Subject: Did Jesus suffer from depression? |
Bible Note: Hello CaitlinM, In and of itself, it's not abhorent that Jesus felt the range of human emotions. He was fully God and fully man. Hank expressed well the caution in his response to this question- I would refer you back to it. Nothing in scripture suggests He was "clinically depressed", etc. We need to be careful to not go beyond what is written ( 1 Cor. 4:6). It is highly speculative to do otherwise. We don't need a Savior who was "manic depressive", "suicidal", or "bi-polar" to give us hope. "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." (Heb. 4:15) We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God!
