Bible Question: Was Jesus suffering from "depression" while in the garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:37)? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, No He did not suffer from depression. The KJV says that He felt sorrowful and very heavy. Sorrowful means saddness or to grieve. God's Word translation says that He felt "deep anguish." The Message bible says that He felt "agonizing sorrow". He was filled with such great sorrow because of what wash happening that He felt weighed down but not depressed. prayon |
