AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble and sin [by leading him away from My teaching], it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone [as large as one turned by a donkey] hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Subject: Jesus' thoughts on child abuse |
Bible Note: Wow! this verse is much more symbolic than I first imagined. It starts by teaching . . to be 'like a child' is the purest form of holiness (-paraphrased). "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And He called a child to Himself and set him before them . . . - Matt. 18.6 -Touches the very core of being a Christian. -Perfectly illustrates the utter depravity of abusing a child. thanks for your reply - L.Mer |
