Bible Question: where is their in the bible that ays it is ok for woman to preach, or is their any woman preachers in the bible . i know their is woman teachers ,and didnt jesus speak to mary magdalon and tell her to go tell his dicipals jesus has risen. |
Bible Answer: 1 Cor. 13:34 reads "The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says." I've always taken this to mean that men do have the primary position in leadership of the gathering body of believers. On the other hand, I do strongly believe that women can and should teach Bible studies for themselves (other women) and children. But as far as women pastors, bishops, or sheperds of the "entire" flock. I must say that I have to reject on the basis of the Scripture above. hidden in Christ, Lissa |
