AMPLIFIED 2015 | Obadiah 1:16 "Because just as you [Edom] drank on My holy mountain [desecrating it in the revelry of the destroyers], So shall all the nations drink continually [one by one, of My wrath]; Yes, they shall drink and swallow [the full measure of punishment] And become as though they had never existed. Bible Question: On the Day of the Lord (or any other time), what are the instruments of God's wrath and who are it's recipients? |
Bible Answer: John 1.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 3.19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. In these verses it appears that John is saying that the life of Christ judges us. This is quite different than the popular belief that his life was an example for us. When he was tempted in every way that we are, he could not use one ounce of his deity to resist it or he would have an advantage over us in facing temptation. So his perfect life puts us to shame since we should have been able to resist as well. |
