Subject: Unclean food for the Christian? |
Bible Note: Kwigger You ask, "What is the ultimate behavioral standard for the Body of Christ?" The Apostles were asked that same question at the council of Jerusalem Acts 16, and they gave an answer. So why do you want to add to it? As for my cheeseburger example if you will carefully understand Jewish law the two can not touch. They can be eaten together one at a time but they may not touch. So yes the they could dine on meat and curds but the couldn't eat cheeseburger. Also unless your slaughtering you own meat your far from Kosher either Jewish or in your term Biblically kosher . The Bible clearly states the meat must be bled. That my friend takes time, time the modern slaughter houses don’t have. Jewish Kosher goes a step further and soaks the meat in salt water to draw out any remaining blood. Also if you eat anything but well done you also violate the law. Jewish law requires the animal to be inspected by the priest/rabbi who examine the meat, the entrails, and in most case they actually slit the animal’s throat with a scary sharp knifes. The animal is not traumatized but merely goes to sleep not even realizing it’s throat was cut. Incidentally want to know what happens to the meat that fails? It goes into the Gentile pile. So unless your buying kosher food you miss many of the Biblical laws and all of the Jewish kosher laws. If you want to bind yourself to the law, fantastic but don’t infer we all should. EdB |
