Subject: Unclean food for the Christian? |
Bible Note: Kwigger, Sorry, but the only GRIEVIOUS ERRORS on the Forum tonight have been in your posts!! Colossians 2:16 "Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath." [ESV] "And he said to them, "Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled? (This HE DECLARED ALL FOODS CLEAN.) And he said, "What comes out of a person is what defiles him." Mark 7:18-20 [ESV, emphasis mine] "Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. For the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof." 1 Cor. 10:25-26 [ESV] You cannot attempt to say (and be justified) that I am taking these three examples out of their context to justify the fact that they all lead to the same conclusion. Most apologetics authors do not WASTE THEIR TIME with addressing this issue of whether or not we can eat hotdogs or not, simply because the Bible so clearly has addressed this shortsightedness, that is, shortsightedness if you find yourself so clumsily stumbing over this fact. I say this to put you to shame. "One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand." Romans 14:2-4 [ESV] Kwigger, you now stand condemned if you continue to pass judgment upon those who are not bound to keep Leviticus 11, but at the same time respect what the Lord was showing and bringing His people through.
