Subject: Christian Response To Eastern Thought? |
Bible Note: I don't think you are ashamed of the gospel...it is the "power of God for salvation" part I was bringing up. :) Again, I disagree with your assessment of methodology in dealing with cultists. In fact, I just listened to a tape by John MacArthur which mentioned how a prominent figure within the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witnesses) in Florida came to know Christ because of MacArthur's radio broadcast on the deity of Christ. Out of the JW's and right to biblical Christianity, thanks to the unvarnished, undiluted proclamation and expostition of God's Word. The Holy Spirit truly does work in that way, you know. We are not called to first destroy false doctrine, then replace it with true doctrine, but rather to uproot falsehood WITH the truth. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" --2 Corinthians 10:3-5 I pray for fruitful ministry to your friend! --Joe! |
