Bible Question:
In the last 5 months it seems like I just always know what God wants me to do. Do I stay at my job or find another one? Do I get out of a relationship or not? These are really big decisions that didn't take me anytime to make because it was like God burned it in my heart before I even asked. Of course I prayed for confirmation to make sure it was Him and not satan trying to trick me and it was always confirmed. Is this discernment? I don't mean to ask stupid questions, but I'm really new at this. |
Bible Answer: Your question concerns one of the greatest adventures in the Christian life. How do I know God's will for me? And for different people there are different answers. It's awesome that you have felt directed by God, and praying and being wary of Satan's devices are great too. It's my opinion that God doesn't want us to overly stress out in finding His will. As we study His word and learn morals and principles for living, when we follow those and walk in fellowship with Him, the details work themselves out, as they have in your life. Isaiah 27:11 in context refers to God's ultimate judgment of earth as an attribute of His nature. The people had no discernment as to their doing evil and God's not calling it into account. Your guides to the Christian life are your conscience, your knowledge of God's word, advice from fellow believers, parents (obey them "in the Lord") and the Holy Spirit, who is at work in all the the above ways. Hope this helps. |
