Bible Note: Greetings WOS! Whoops! I forgot an important point! :-) Check out Jonah 3:9 - "Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish." Apparently, the Ninevites had no real expectation that God would relent, only a hope that He would relent. If Jonah's preaching included a conditional (if you repent, then I will not destroy Ninevah), then Jonah 3:9 would be worded quite differently. p.s. - I really like your screen name my friend! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
