Bible Question:
I have been searching for a solid answer about the Sabbath. I have always worshiped on Sunday. But here is something that I am thinking about. Today we believe in every Commandment but Sabbath worship. Why. Now I have always thought worship on Sunday is the same, but it is not. Sabbath is a time of rest, but for me all my life the only real rest might of been a nap. Today we play every sport, or watch them. We shop, go to movies, play golf, cards, just about everything, but little relates to even thinking about God. Here is my concern, question, Is worship on Sunday morning, or evening, if your church has a evening service, really the same as what done before Jesus died? I know some things like no cooking was a man made, but the way most of us do is not a day of rest, but a day off to do as we see fit, after Sunday worship. In my mind something is just not right. Is anyone else thinking like me? just me |
Bible Answer: Justme, We should worship God every day of the week. Now the bible states hat the seventh day is holy, blessed and hallowed to me by HIM putting those qualifiers on one particuar makes the day itself important to HIM. (e.g. my anniversy date is important to my wife and I but it's just any day to someone else.) Now what I do on that day is important to her bcause that's someting we share. The Sabbath as made for us to rest from our work during the week yes we do take naps. But that being said I wouldn't do what I like to do on the Sabbath, Isa 58:13-14. Once again we should worship every day in the week. If God refeshed himself I ought to myself. Now don't get me wrong every man has to be persauded in his own mind.Romans 14:1-5 Paul did persuade and reasoned with people every Sabbath though (Acts 18;4) |
