Bible Note: Greetings Graceful! I have studied Greek for a long time my friend. You will not find the kind of distinction you are mentioning in any Greek dictionary or lexicon. Your actually barking up the wrong tree my friend. I am not debating that God can take His word and reveal it to someone or enlighten someone. But, this distinction between 'logos' and 'rhema' is a false distinction. That is the point I am trying to make. The two words are simply synomyns. If there is any distinction at all between them it would simply be that 'logos' sometimes seems to refer to 'words' or something said in general, while 'rhema' seems to often refer to a specific word or saying. But, there simply isn't any evidence to indicate that 'rhema' refers to a spiritually enlighted word. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
