Subject: Will we have flashbacks of the past? |
Bible Note: There you go 2Tim215, I was just taxing your thinking a little on those, looking through the glass; you pegged it. The only problem now is your “assumption” ideas, in the book of Revelation; notice, no (s) on the end of Revelation. Scripture points out that those judged in Rev. 20 are of the dead verity and there isn’t any indication that any of them are believers in Jesus. No sins are mentioned at the white throne judgment, Jesus paid for all the sins when God judged him on the cross. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The only thing that Jesus didn’t pay for was “mans rejection” of God’s solution for mankind in the person of His unique Son. The basis for the indictment of those at the white throne judgment is the rejection of God’s Christ, Jesus. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Since those to be judged are there on the basis of their works, it appears that they relied on their own works instead of Christ’s work and God clearly points out to them that their works are worthless by comparison to those that Jesus performed on the cross. 1 Cor. 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Rev. 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. In effect, those at the white throne judgment have their works placed on God’s balance of justice. Jesus’ work on the cross is on one end of the scale and the unbeliever’s works are placed on the opposite end, and their works are found wanting, or come up short, to say the least. And if that isn’t proof enough for them there is evidence in “the book of life” that, those in review don’t have their names listed. People can believe what God is telling them now, in His Word, or they can believe it when it’s too late! No matter when people believe God the results of the Bible will be; Philip. 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 2Tim 215, here is one for you: Which member of the Trinity is doing the judging at the white throne judgment?
