Subject: Can we not ask God to forgive another? |
Bible Note: Christ gave the authority to the Apostles to announce forgiveness and warn of guilt. As Christ’s ambassadors, they didn’t provide forgiveness, only proclaimed it. If a person confesses and turns to Christ, they can be assured that God forgives their sins. However, should they refuse to confess they are to be warned they will face the judgment of God. As pointed out in Mark 2, only God has the “right” to forgive sin. We can only proclaim it. WOS |
