I am 16, and well, as you might have guessed I'm not married. Nope, not too much of an issue right now. I do have a mom though, if that counts for anything, and I am very blessed to have her, for she is someone who has always helped me and encouraged me in reading the Word.

I grew up (and I guess still am growing up) in a Lutheran Missouri Synod Church, where our pastors always encouraged us to be studying his word on a regular basis. This, is something that I will always recognize as a gracious gift from God, becuase it has helped foster and shape my relationship with Christ.

When I was 5 or 6, I used to think that if I read the whole bible I would have all the answers and there would be nothing else for me understand or know about God and my relationship with him. Well, as you might have guessed, that theory pretty much fell flat on its face. However, though I read through his word like boring novel and did not really study it or understand it, God allowed for selective passages and concepts to slip in with my "heavy" reading so that he opened my eyes to his grace and what my relationship with him should be. So a year later as we were finishing confirmation at my church, I decided that I'd sit back down with my handy NIV and reread it with diligence so that I could understand and study his Word, which of course is exactly what he wanted me to do in the first place. So that's what I've been doing since. And I now understand that the bible isn't a "hit and run" study that you do once and get over with, it is a lifetime commitment and relationship to Christ, that I know look more and more forward to strengthening everyday.

I do struggle with ADD, and it affects me especially when I am reading God's word, I just can't concentrate, I am supposed to block out all distractions and be laid bare, however, I can't. Yet, God in His wondrous grace grants me the patience ans attention that I need to study His Word. Also on this note, if you ever find yourself not understanding my questions or answers in the future, don't worry, I don't either.
