AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Chronicles 19:5 When David was told how the men were treated, he sent messengers to meet them, for they were very humiliated and ashamed [to return]. So the king said, "Stay in Jericho until your beards grow [back], and then return." |
Bible Question (short): Witness or Culture follower |
Question (full): kalos: I think a carnal believer can and will do what ever they are drawn to. The beard thing is pretty legalistic. If men adapted to the culture they live in, without considering their witness to the world, who would be able to change the world. Actions sometimes speak louder than words. We have lots of black horse drawn buggies near us, and there is no doubt what they believe, as they have made a huge statement, they are not of this present culture, or of the world. This is extreme, and I would not do this, but we have become friends with several Amish families. They live their faith for all to see. How do we live our faith so others see. |
