Bible Note: Izzy: A couple of your observations concerning the nature of the Trinity could use some clarification. You say that God "stepped off His throne and put on a 'flesh suit'". To whom then did Jesus pray? You also say, "Jesus is God because God has given Him life to show us." WHEN did God give Jesus life? The doctrine of the pre-existent eternal Christ in John 1 is clear: "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Christ was never made, given life, or had a beginning in any sense whatever. The Bible patently denies that Christ was ever "given life"; on the contrary, "in Him was life, and the life was the light of men." [John 1:4]. This is one of the great concepts of John's gospel. John uses the Greek word [zoe] for life 36 times in his gospel. Life is Christ's gift (John 10:28] and Christ is, in plain fact, the life [John 14:6]. I'm afraid your analogy between you and your sons and God the Father and God the Son doesn't hold up theologically. You doubtlessly are sincere and you may be right in your concept of the nature of the Trinity, but on reading your post it appears that your expression of it may be somewhat ambiguous and less than clear. --Hank |
