Personal profile for user screen name: 2 Ti 2:15 Hi my name is Casey.I live in Iowa. I am 21. I have not been to any bible schools neither do I have any degree's. I came to God at the age of 13. I am father of two wonderful children and husband of a great wife. I love God and serving him is my complete life. Some would call me a holy roller, others maybe a finatic but I just call myself in Love with Jesus. I don't claim to be a scholar I know I don't know everything, but what man does. However, I know the one with all knowledge that attends unto my smallest prayers. My prayer is similar to that of Solomons "God give me wisdom!" Ja 1:5 says if any man lacks wisdom let him ask God becuase God will give it to him liberally. I try not to be bound by my personal beliefs. I believe the sole authority in Truth is the bible and that the Holy Ghost will bear witness with our spirit to the truth.(Jn.16:13) We have to study the bible honestly with an open heart. My opinion is that often we look through biast eyes without even realizing it. The majority of people would say they are open but if you "oppose" what they believe with some scriptures they get extremely defensive and some right down hateful. Many people committed a lot of heinous acts in the name of righteousness. Let us all ask God in prayer and listen to the Spirit which will lead us into all truth. (through the word) We are often so busy trying to prove what we believe we stop listening to what he is trying to tell us in his word. I pray God would open my and his peoples eyes so we might see what he wants us to and not what we want to or think we have seen. It doesn't matter how open you think you are we are all susceptible to biased study. My ultimate goal is to please God and in order to do this I look to the scriptures. 2 Ti. 2:15 says "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." We need to search out our own salvation. Dividing the word and searching for it's true meaning ourselves. In Hos. God said "My people are destroyed for lack of knowlege.." Its sad that many people blindly follow leaders and don't study the word for themselves. I believe ignorance is the worst disease among quote christians. On the other hand knowledge can sometimes blind our eyes from God also, look at the Pharisees. They were the wisest scholars and they were the ones who missed out. Ultimatly we have to be honest with ourselves. I pray for myself and all my brothers that I would have enough wisdom to see truth, but not so much knowledge I blind my own heart and eyes from receiving what God is trying to tell me. God bless everyone Casey (The above information has been submitted by the author for use solely by the StudyBibleForum.com) |
