Bible Question: was abraham ever a gentile? |
Bible Answer: He was never an Israelite or a Jew in the national sense. Notice Israel as a nation was named after the father of the original 12 tribes, named after the sons of Jacob, later re-named Israel. God's family of Jews didn't become a nation until after deliverance from Egyptian salvery. So no, Abraham was not a gentile or a Jew either one. He pre-dated the whole business of discrimination between those two distinctive "races." Just like Melchizedek pre-dated Jesus ministry on earth. Pretty cool how that works out that way, huh? God bless. |
