Bible Note: Good day, I am not sure how this passage could reasonably be understood as an anthropormorphism. It is, seemingly at least, a direct statement of what God was going to do. When God is said to repent or change His mind, it is, I think, always in response to a change in the way that humans are responding to Him. And I'm not sure that I would call that an anthropormorphism either. Anthropormorphism is, I believe, a figure of speech (ie. not to be taken litterally) where a human characteristic is figuratively applied to God in order to make a particular point. I don't see how that could be true of these two verses. If I am missing something here, please show me what it is. Have a good day. Bob |
