Subject: Why is life expectancy for Americans low |
Bible Note: Actually Genesis 6:3 does not say that God would not allow man to live more than 120 years. This is what it says: So the Lord said, “My spirit will not remain in mankind indefinitely since they are mortal. They will remain for one hundred and twenty more years.”[11] Genesis 6:3 NET BIBLE [Footnote 11] Translators' Note. 'Heb “his days will be one hundred and twenty years.” Some interpret this to mean that the age expectancy of people from this point on would be one hundred twenty, but neither the subsequent narrative nor reality favors this. It is more likely that this refers to the time remaining between this announcement of judgment and the coming of the flood.' ____________________ www.bible.org/netbible/index.htm |
