Subject: What is Mark of Cain? Where in the Bilbe |
Bible Note: Hello Fran1946, The name Cain has the srtongs number of H7014(with a play upon the affinity to H7069);Kajin, the name of the first child, also of a place in Palestine, and of an Oriental tribe:-Cain, Kenite From the history of the name and its tribes, Ive heard it said that Cains darkened pigment was his mark, hence Kajin food is pretty much charcoaled. However this mark on Cain may not be any more visible than the mark of the beast, Or Christ mark upon our forheads. The words mark and seal are used interchangebly throughout the Bible. Gods seal upon his children has to do with his everlasting covenant between him and man. Rev 9:4 And they were commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads. Eze 9:4 And Jehovah said to him, Go through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning because of all the abominations that are done in her midst. Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption. Interestingly enough the word "mark" in the new testement means to cut, scratch, etching, or a stamp(seal). This is why Jewish people would circumcise(cut) themselves, so they would be set apart from the world. Gen 17:10 This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your seed after you. Every male child among you shall be circumcised. Gen 17:11 And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin. And it shall be a token of the covenant between Me and you. But God ask for a circumcision of the heart. This brings me to my interesting point. The covenant was the cutting of the flesh, and now the heart. Exo 31:16 Therefore the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant. But God says that this covenant is for "ALL" men. Isa 56:4 For so says Jehovah to the eunuchs who keep My Sabbath, and choose things that please Me, and take hold of My covenant; Isa 56:5 even to them will I give within My house and within My walls a hand and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, who join themselves to Jehovah to serve Him, and to love the name of Jehovah, to be His servants, everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and takes hold of My covenant; To break the Sabbath is to work on the seventh day or reject it all together, according to scripture. So some say that a mark on your hand by working or mind(forehead) by rejecting is accepting the mark of the beast and rejecting Gods seal(covenant). Well theres alot that could be said about a word study on mark, seal, cutting, etching, and covenant. So I'll leave it at that. MaTT |
