Bible Question: I need to find out what the "Mark of Cain" is and were can I find what it is in the Bible? |
Bible Answer: There is no scripture that states exactly what the mark of Cain really is. Some theologians say that the Mark of Cain is the ethnic group of Negroes, but there is nothing to back that up and I personally do not believe it, nor do any other Pastors that i have talked to. Cain was the originator of the Caananites. They believed in the Asherah poles, the sexual perversion that we find in the scripture where the Israelites commited sexual sin and 7,000 of them died. Other references in the Old Testament refer to them also. But there is no reference as to the exact mark that God placed on them. If you will remember Noah placed a mark on his grandson because his son saw him drunk and naked in his tent, which was an abomination in those days. He said that Cain would be a slave to his brothers. Check throughout history and you will see that the descendants of Cain were in fact slaves. Maybe that is what God had in mind. |
