Subject: Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? |
Bible Note: so #2 We need to ask what was before the destruction in Genesis 1:2? Lucifer is known as the King of Tyre and Babylon was in the physical world before Adam and Eve, revived later after Adam and Eve by the hands of men by the authority of Babylon in the spiritual world. Babylon in the spiritual world will be cast down at the end of the great tribulation (Rev. 14:8; 17:1-7). The LORD God said to the son of man, tell Lucifer, “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones” (Ezek. 28:12-14). Lucifer was perfect in Eden. We know that he was not perfect when Adam was there so God was referring to a time before then, i.e. the time after God created the Heavens and the earth but before the destruction in Genesis 1:2. Back then Lucifer was the best-looking angel, or else God would not have mentioned how beautiful Lucifer was. By his physical composition he was created to praise God, what an incredible honor. He was also part of the Holy government. On the Holy Mountain with God like Moses was (Ex. 24:10,17). He ruled the earth because we know that he was located on earth (in the garden of Eden). And God says, “By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones” (Ezek. 28:16). “How the oppressor has ceased, the golden city ceased! The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers; He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted and no one hinders… "Hell from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the dead for you, all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. They all shall speak and say to you: "Have you also become as weak as we? Have you become like us?” (Is. 14:4-6,9-10). They knew that Lucifer had authority because he was with God. God continues to say, “Your pomp (your pride) is brought down to Sheol, and the sound of your stringed instruments; the maggot is spread under you, and worms cover you. How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! “How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!” (Is. 14:11-12). He weakened the nations before he was striped of his authority and was thrown out of heaven to earth. Jesus, the Word of God, mentioned Satan’s fall, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18). Lucifer corrupted the nations of the earth before Adam was created (between Gen. 1:1 and 1:2). These physical spirit beings that were on earth were under the rule of Lucifer. They were intelligent and had knowledge of good and evil. They had the ability to choose and they choose Lucifer. Lucifer lead the people astray from God’s command so God stripped from Lucifer from his authority over the earth and he was thrown to the earth. When he fell, he fell as the son of the morning, talking about his original fall not the fall during the tribulation. What was the start of Lucifer’s sin? Pride, “For you have said in your heart: "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Yet you shall (his future during the 1000years reign of Christ – Rev. 20:1-3) be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit” (Is. 14:13-15). He said within himself that he would ascend into heaven? He was already part of the government of God but his ruler ship was over the earth. He ruled earth before iniquity was found in him.
