NASB | Genesis 1:2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:2 The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. |
Bible Question (short): God's Second disapointment |
Question (full): We all know that God created Man, and has -at times- become disappointed with this creation. However, is Man the second creation that God has not happy with? In Genesis 1:2 we find Earth being "formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep," and later in Genesis 1:4 we learn that God liked the light so he separated it from darkness. Now, if the Earth was covered in darkness (Gen 1:2)and God did not like darkness(Gen 1:4), logically it can be said that God did not like the Earth. Now, I am in no way downgrading or blesphemizing our God. There are some theories as to why the Earth was created in this manner, however I will not get into those. My last question is, If God created light because he was not happy with Earth, what will he, or has he/ created because he is not happy with Man? |
