Bible Question: Could someone please tell me, how does one explain the Trinity and how does one preach the Trinity? I am finding it very hard to understand the Trinity. In my research, I find that Trinitarians are not in agreement, among themselves. Where is the Trinity in the Bible? It is very confusing to me and the only thing that comes into my head is 1 Corinthians 14:33 "God is not a God of confusion." Why can't the Hebrew, Greek, and Latin scholars explain the Trinity? sisterkath |
Bible Answer: Hi sisterkath, I read the first chapter of Genesis tonight and counted the pronouns of Deity. As always I saw the Trinity in the fact that the total was divisible by three. I read the first three verses of the gospel of John and their total pronoun count was divisible by three. This affirms for me the Trinity. I would suggest that you go to your favorite translation of the Scriptures and consider that the Spirit is more than an active force. He is a Person of the Trinity. You make that "active force" into a Spirit and you will understand the Trinity. I suggest you go to your New World Translation and in studying the first verse of John consider that the Word was Spirit with God and that the Word was more than a god. You make that god into God and know that He [that One] was in the beginning with God; then you can understand the Trinity. When you have that settled in your mind, come back and talk with us some more. I for one will be more than happy to preach the Trinity to you. From the heart, Ray |
