Subject: question to smoke pot or not |
Bible Note: Hi, again. Being an introvert it helps me to stop and think of a response. I believe the two people who replied missed the point of my comments. I obviously didn't say them right. Since i am essentially anonymous on this forum, I can tell you that I am an AA member. Having said that, I add the disclaimer that i do not speak for AA, i speak only of my own experience. My experience personally is that as i clean the inside of my cup as AA suggests in their 12 steps, the outside gets clean as well. for my friends who are acting out in a homosexual lifestyle, i believe my job is to help them clean the inside of the cup. the outside will take care of itself. When i was drinking it would have done me no good for someone to come to me and tell me that my excessive drinking is a sin (note the word excessive. If Christians can smoke cannabis, then i guess we can drink alcohol). But AA taught me that my drinking was only a symptom of deeper problems, problems that i must take responsibility for. When i took responsibility for them, i no longer needed or wanted to drink. I see the same thing can go for homosexuality. (although the Bible does talk about eunuchs and i am not sure where they fit into this whole thing) Go to the root of the sin nature, the rest will be taken care of. I hope that clarifies better what i was trying to say. thanks for being willing to discuss this. by the way, i replied because it was suggested that we needed to be open to such discussions. |
