Subject: question to smoke pot or not |
Bible Note: Brad, just moments ago, before reading your post in which you pointed out that pot is, among other things, an illicit and controlled substance, I listened to a radio news cast on which was the story about a regional athlete who was stopped by police for speeding and subsequently was found to be high on pot and was arrested. The thought crossed my mind: what would it do to my witness for Christ if I were arrested for speeding and being high on pot, and in the news cast it was said that this man is a member of First Baptist Church? And what if, after spending a few days in the slammer, I visited a friend to talk to him about Jesus. My friend says, "Hank, I thought you were going to call on me last week." And I confess, "Well, I'd meant to you see, but I was arrested for speeding and being high on pot, and just this morning got out of jail. Sorry for the delay. I hope you understand. Now, let's talk about Jesus..." How great an impact am I likely to make? Has my witness been clouded by the smoke of pot? --Hank |
