83 | Christianity vs. Paganism | Bible general Archive 1 | tuli | 35480
The only power that you have is the Gospel. No other book is going to help. The Word of God is power. paul persuaded many from their ways in teh Book of Acts, only using the Gospel. Others used fancy speech, he was simple! I believe that because His life spoke too and that he was empowered by the Holy Spirit just as Our Lord Jesus Christ was, he needed no other helps. You do not have any power in yourself to change those kids, the Spirit of God does. Prayerfully seek God's intervention in the kids' lives. Fancy material may make them change their minds but if they are not builded on the foundation of God's word, they soon will fall back. God Bless. |

84 | Divisions and disunity?? | John 17:21 | tuli | 35741
I believe the root of division is a lack in spirituality. In the book of 1 COR. Paul addresses the Churc, by the way as the Church of the Living God even with all the division. BUt he mentions something rather interesting in 1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. And one of the problems in the Church was division as many have mentioned. However, in Chapter 12 when he starts off on the spiritual matters then what does he address? He address the body of Christ. A wonderful parallel to Eph. 4 I believe it is only when we have dealt with all the canality that we can appreciate the unity-which is in the Spirit. One issue dealt with in 1 COR 5 is was unrepentant sinners as in v.11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. These matters are serious yet few are bold enough to stand for them and then they are derided! The worst persecution is by the church itself. We fight against what we do not see. God Bless. |

86 | explain the first four verses of luke 4 | Luke | tuli | 35739
v 4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed. I think what is really neat is that Luke was relaying what he was taught and believed v1-2 to Theophillus that he too may believe. This is a good example of faith coming by hearing the word. The book of Acts is a continuation of Luke Acts 1:1 Hope that helps a little. God Bless. |

88 | should Christian children have boyfriend | 1 Thess 4:3 | tuli | 35723
Friend, The boyfriend-girlfriend relationship is a rather contemporary one. And, it is only found in the developed world where Christian values are very like the world. We are not to be like the world at all. Yet we do exactly what the world does and call it by another name. Just as Israel did. One warning I can't get over when it comes to these defiling relationships is: Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Now all this is in the heart! Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: The girlfriend-boyfriend relationship is nowhere in the scriptures recognized. Especially because it is very rarely with any intentions of marriage. 1 Corinthians 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. We live in very dark times, it is getting worse. There is a movement making ready the revealing of the anti-christ. And these movement is very subtle making mankind numb to the standards of Christ. We make thing seem okay because they meet the needs of the flesh-this is enmity with God! God Bless. |

91 | Does God bring calamity to redeticate ya | Jonah | tuli | 35715
God chastens his children. Hebrews 12 tells a whole lot about that. Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: |

92 | What is unity of the body? | John 17:21 | tuli | 35714
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. The book of Ephesians is a wonderful consideration of what the body of Christ-the Church is. Eph. 4:3 encourages to diligently keep the unity which was made already at the cross. The analogy given in 1 cor 12 is that of your own body and I believe that is waht the Church is supposed to function as. Just like the early church in Acts. |

93 | A question about Jonah | Gen 1:1 | tuli | 33857
Thanks Hank, God has not used man to talk to animals at least as far as I know from the scriptures! I doubt St. Francis of Assisi ever got a word to the beloved brother wolf! :0) To quit monkeyong around, animals have no soul and God uses them as He uses any of His creation for His purpose. Jah Bless. |

94 | Double portion is really only two-thirds | 2 Kin 2:9 | tuli | 33839
Hey Preacher, I have tried to look for the passage that talks about Reuben not getting the due of the firstborn. I believe he lost it to Joseph, thereby Joseph attaining a double portion, that is, the two sons he had both inherited. In lieu of that, I think a double portion is twice that anyone else receives. In the case of Elijah and Elisha, I doubt it was up to Elijah to give that portion because of his reply to Elisha. I figure that will be my two mites. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. |

96 | A question about Jonah | Gen 1:1 | tuli | 33665
A good question to ask is if God use man to speak to animals? God created man in His image and only in man did He breath and also complete creation.

98 | The Sons of God in Genesis 6:1-4 | Genesis | tuli | 32405
Hey Hank, I am a little curious as to what you mean by "in principle at least". By the way, I was of the impression that the majority of those involved in discussion on this forum consider the Bible the foundation of any discussion. Blind faith is blind to anything out of the scriptures! JAH BLESS. |

99 | The Sons of God in Genesis 6:1-4 | Genesis | tuli | 32384
Okay, now we are on the same page! The proof is on the Bible! We do not need to look anywhere else! That's exactly what my point was. We do not need any scientific proof, or argue our way in scripture. take it fro what it says even if it doesn't seem to make sense. John the Baptist believed there was a messiah, he may have had some questions, that's why he sent his disciples but he started by believing. Jesus at some point refused to give any signs and says the only sign was the one in the scriptures. Our faith grows, but starts without proof. Then as we grow, it makes more sense. Again, the proof or evidence comes after! Ex 3:12, the proof came after the fact, not before. And we can continue that way until we come to teh full knowledge. I hope that if you don't find proof for what you read in the Bible, you don't stop believing! Remember, Israel in the desert saw quite a bit, yet they were filled with unbelief! So much for proof! God says there is a way, I believe Him then I see it! I don't wait to see it to believe. The Lord Bless You. |

Reading in context, I do not see any alarming significance in the "change". What do you think it means? Since you pointed it out, there is something you are thinking about. Wanna share it? Jah Bless. |
