81 | I'm writing a book, need to know | Mark 14:16 | Songbirdca | 48939
I'm writing a book and I'm wondering if that would be taking it just a little too far. Would people be offended if say Jesus' mother was there? Songbirdca |

82 | I'm writing a book, need to know | Mark 14:16 | Songbirdca | 48946
It's central to the story I'm writing. Everything is from her perspective. Since they went up each year to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, I'm assuming she would be there (she was there for the crucifixion). Also, I'm told the Upper Room was big enough to hold about forty people. Why would Jesus need a room that large for twelve people? I need to take a little artistic license, but only if it's feasible. 83 | Who was at the Last Supper? | Mark 14:16 | Songbirdca | 48953
Thanks for your input Raven. However, since this is a novel I am writing and since it is central to the story, I think, based on what I hear from the others who have responded to my query, that it will not cause a problem. Again, the verses I quoted in Mark leave some question. And you are right in quoting 1 Cor. 4. I will take that verse into consideration before my final edit. Songbirdca |

86 | Was Luke one of the 12? | Luke 1:2 | Songbirdca | 81425
Luke was a Gentile believer and a doctor and was not part of the original twelve. Jesus did not find him, but Paul did. It is probable that he was converted in Troas. Acts 17:1 On Paul's third visit to Philippi (20:5,6) we again meet with Luke, who probably had spent all the intervening time in that city, a period of seven or eight years. From this time Luke was Paul's constant companion during his journey to Jerusalem (20:6-21:18). He again disappears from view during Paul's imprisonment at Jerusalem and Caesarea, and only reappears when Paul sets out for Rome (27:1), whither he accompanies him (28:2, 12-16), and where he remains with him till the close of his first imprisonment (Philemon 1:24; Col. 4:14). The last notice of the "beloved physician" is in 2 Tim. 4:11. There are many passages in Paul's epistles, as well as in the writings of Luke, which show the extent and accuracy of his medical knowledge. |

87 | How long did the census of Mary and Jose | Luke 2:1 | Songbirdca | 74442
Approximately how long would the census that Mary and Joseph were involved have taken? Would they have had to stay in Bethlehem for a long time because of it?
88 | Who was Joseph's father? | Luke 3:23 | Songbirdca | 139176
I know this subject has been discussed before, unfortunately as I browsed the many theories I find myself still with unanswered questions regarding Joseph's geneology. Luke 3:23-38 says that Joseph was the son of Heli and Matthew 1:1-17 says that Jacob was the father of Joseph. So, who was Jospeh's father? I have noticed that someone said Heli was Mary's father, but they gave no scriptural evidence to back it up. Does anyone know who Joseph's father really was? I'm writing a book and it is imperative that I know. |

91 | Was Mary from the line of David? | Luke 3:23 | Songbirdca | 173214
Thank you! I thought they were both from the same line but the geneology's were confusing me.

93 | Where did Jesus call Simon and Andrew? | John 1:35 | Songbirdca | 47681
In Mark 1:16-20 we read where Jesus called Simon and his brother Andrew to be his disciples. He found them in Galilee fishing. However in John 1:35-42 it says something completely different. Why the discrepancy? Can anybody clear this up? Songbirdca |

95 | Born of water and the Spirit? | John 3:22 | Songbirdca | 82143
I'm confused by Nicodemus' visit to Jesus. Jesus said you must be born of water and spirit. What exactly did he mean?
96 | Must we be baptized to be saved? | John 3:22 | Songbirdca | 82175

97 | How did Jesus escape from Nazareth? | John 10:30 | Songbirdca | 129633
After seeing the supposed location of the cliff in Nazareth that the people tried to throw Jesus off of, I'm wondering - how did walk through the crowd? (Read - Luke 4:29-30) All these people are surrounding him, the cliff is more than 50ft high, how could they just lose sight of him? Anyone have any ideas?
98 | Why does Psalm 82:6 say we are gods? | John 10:34 | Songbirdca | 75261
why does Psalm 82:6 say that we are gods? Isn't that contradictory?
99 | Why does Psalm 82:6 say we are gods? | John 10:34 | Songbirdca | 75348
It still doesn't make sense to me. I know that I'm a child of God, but that doesn't make me a god. I've just had two Mormons to my door and they insist we will one day be gods. Using all the verses you pointed out. How can that be?
100 | Who were Mary's sisters? | John 19:25 | Songbirdca | 139528
I've come across a very interesting yet confusing verse. John 19:25 says, "Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene." Is this four people or three? Depends on how you read it. I then compared it with Matthew 27:56 which reads: "Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children." And also, Mark 15:40 which reads: "There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome" Here's my concern. I'm writing a book and need to know something very crucial - were Salome and Mary the mother of James the Less and the wife of Clopas, Mary's (Jesus mother) sisters? |
