81 | Did the Magi visit Bethlehem or Nazareth | Matt 2:1 | Songbirdca | 72911
When the magi visited Jesus, was he in Bethlehem or Nazareth? Luke and Matthew seem to have conflicting accounts. Luke has Jesus returning with his parents to Nazareth after they had him consecrated to the Lord in the Temple in Jerusalem. Matthew has him in Bethlehem for 2 years. Why would Mary and Joseph stay in Bethlehem for two years when their home was in Nazareth? It doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone clarify? |

86 | Was Clopas Cleopas? | Not Specified | Songbirdca | 49912
While reading about the two on the Road to Emmaus I noticed that one of the men mentioned was named Clopas. I know that Cleopas was the husband of the 'other Mary'. (John 19: 24-26) I wonder if this Clopas here is just a variant on the spelling of his name. Also there is a Simon mentioned I don't believe that it is Simon Peter, so I'm wondering if it might be Simon the Leper. Any thoughts on that? Songbirdca aka Laura |

88 | Who anointed Jesus' body? | John 19:40 | Songbirdca | 49905
Why did the women come back to anoint Jesus' body, if Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea had already done it? Check out John 19:38-42; Mark 16:1 and Luke 24:1. Songbirdca |

89 | What about those who buried Jesus? | Num 19:11 | Songbirdca | 49846
Wow! How would that apply to Jesus' burial then? Would Joseph of Arimathea and the women who anointed Jesus body have to go through a special cleansing period afterwards? Or did those laws still apply? Songbirdca |

92 | Was James the son Alpaheus Jesus brother | Matt 10:3 | Songbirdca | 49756
You should know that it was common during those times for parents to give the same name to more than one of their children. Also I would be interested in knowing the verse about the tribes not allowing to intermarry. I understood they weren't allowed to marry foreigners but I have never heard about the tribes not being allowed to marry. Songbirdca |

99 | Who was at the Last Supper? | Mark 14:16 | Songbirdca | 48953
Thanks for your input Raven. However, since this is a novel I am writing and since it is central to the story, I think, based on what I hear from the others who have responded to my query, that it will not cause a problem. Again, the verses I quoted in Mark leave some question. And you are right in quoting 1 Cor. 4. I will take that verse into consideration before my final edit. Songbirdca |

100 | I'm writing a book, need to know | Mark 14:16 | Songbirdca | 48946
It's central to the story I'm writing. Everything is from her perspective. Since they went up each year to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, I'm assuming she would be there (she was there for the crucifixion). Also, I'm told the Upper Room was big enough to hold about forty people. Why would Jesus need a room that large for twelve people? I need to take a little artistic license, but only if it's feasible.
