81 | WHY COULDN'T THE RIGHTEOUS | Heb 13:2 | glory777 | 20549
dltlshines- I can't help but think, when in the presence of our King, the things that we do for good will seem so trivial to us before Him, that it will be He who will call them to our mind. What a wonderful God we have. Debbie |

82 | How does this relate to the context? | John 4:16 | glory777 | 20153
Neither does Tim! It was in the ballroom by Mrs. White with a 666 foot rope! Debbie |

83 | Revelation told by the stars? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 19576
Ed- I know that D. James Kennedy has a series (?) about astrology and how it relates to Christ and the things of Christianity. You might want to check into that. Debbie |

84 | How old is the earth scripturally? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 19396
Phillip You know, it is a good thing you can take what God says as literal so often. Otherwise, Jesus could have been in the tomb for centuries, and, in my few years on this earth, I would still be working nonstop because it would still be Monday! And do you know how bad Jonah would have smelled by now being in the belly of a big fish all this time? If you can accept timeframes for all of these, why is it so hard to believe in the time frame for God's creation as shown in Genesis? Break down part of the Word, and you start to erode it all. Keep your faith, my friend. I would, and have, suggested people visit ICR.org to get more information on the truths of Genesis. They are scientist who are Christians first and start their investigations based on the theory that God's word is true - not that evolution is true, and how can we adjust God's word to it. Bless you- Debbie |

85 | Was Moses and Aaron's request reasonable | Exodus | glory777 | 19119
After checking into this a little further, I found that cows were held as sacred to the Egyptians and it would have been an affront to them to have a cow sacrificed. Debbie |

86 | Juice/wine poll results? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 18783
Jensen- Add one more to results. Our church uses juice. I believe it is forthe fact that we do not want to be an influencer of anyone who may have had a drinking problem. I know in the Catholic church that I used to attend they use wine, one chalis with a person holding the chalis wiping off the area where the last person drank. I agree, I don't think the form of the elements is that important, but the "Do this in memory of me" is what matters. Blessings- Debbie |

87 | What was the mark on Cain put by God? | Genesis | glory777 | 18781
casiv- You answer it was the mark of the beast. Show me scriptural evidence it is so. I do not find it anywhere in scripture. Unless it is, do not come to conclusions. It will only mislead those who seriously wish to know. Debbie |

88 | How do we know the Bible is the truth? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 18103
Joe- Another book that can be received free over the internet is "More Than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell. I guess this is only available if you live in the U.S. He wasn't convinced and looked for evidence that scripture concerning Christ was either true or false. This is a small book but filled with so much information. I don't know the address off hand, but if you search over the net, you will find it. Debbie |

89 | How do we know the Bible is the truth? | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 18102
Steve- All of the above. And external sources are still proving the validity of it. But until one gives their heart to the Lord, it is just a book of facts and figures. After, it is life and your guide for living. I have heard of so many who have tried to prove it false and have ended up becoming Christians, as I am sure you have also, because it is truth. Debbie |

90 | Judas hanged and later the body fell | Matt 27:5 | glory777 | 17716
Gary- The body would not even have had to hang there long. If there were rocks or other sharp objects like a sharp, strong tree branch, the same could have happened. We just have to take the verious aspects of the puzzle and put them together to find reconciliation. Debbie |

91 | Is | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 17538
sjbdjb- It doesn't seem fair, it doesn't seem right and it looked as if God were sitting on His hands and saying "go for it", but He wasn't. Yes, He is in control of all things, but He also said life was not going to be easy. He did tell us that He would never leave us, He would give us strength to go through (not avoid) all things. We look at this and see a terrible tragedy. God is hurting for us. Remember when Lazarus was dead, how Jesus wept? He saw how his sisters were hurting. But He also saw what would come of the situation. We don't know God's plan for all of this. There are things we will never know until we see Him face to face, but there are times we have to just believe and trust. Even in the most horrible situations, God is there for you. Cry out to Him your feelings. If you are mad at Him, tell Him. God can handle anger. But He will also heal your spirit if you trust in Him and, if you look and see in the future, you may get some understanding of why this occurred. God's peace to you. Debbie |

92 | God's people's land? | 2 Chr 7:14 | glory777 | 17537
I've got to stir the pot a little. I see the part that says "called by my Name". I think God knew that we were going to take the name of "Christian". I think that means WE are called by His name. If we, as His people through Christ, do what He says, we will receive the promises He gives us. Debbie |

93 | will the world end soon | Matt 25:13 | glory777 | 17158
Dalprad- Yes, there are certain things in scripture that set off some heated discussion, but it all doesn't matter. These are things that do not affect one's salvation. I myself believe in the pre-trib (the scriptures have been used again and again to justify it, just as mid trib has scripture to justify it) but I do know what will happen in the future, and if I see it coming about, it does not matter where I stand, I will know what is happening and know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I also know that the majority of those who write in to the forum are born again and will have an eternity to say either "you are right" or "you are wrong" and not mind at all because we will be glorifying the Lord together and even now know that we are brothers and sisters in the Lord. So even though there is some "heat" know that there is love with it, but our humanness gets in the way sometimes. God be with you. Debbie |

94 | what does rev6.6 refer to | Rev 6:6 | glory777 | 17036
According to the notes in my bible, "a denarius was the daily wage for a laborer, which ordinarily would buy eight times the amount of wheat and barley as under these conditions. The oil and the wine, symbolic of luxuries, likely means the famine is viewed as limited. It does not depict worldwide rampant starvation." From the Spirit filled Life Bible. Inflation to the max. 95 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | glory777 | 16983
You are so right. But if we know that the world is going to be destroyed anyway, why do anything? I think the bible says somewhere about "pray for peace in Jerusalem". Why should we follow that when we also know that the only time there will be peace is when the antichrist signs the treaty for peace, which he will eventually break himself. When I heard about the terrorists' action, all I could think was "God have mercy, God forgive us." I do believe the US will turn back to Him, just as the Ninevites repented after Jonah preached to them. But I bet there were Ninevites who said, "The man was a fool. God never was going to do anything anyway".
96 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | glory777 | 16953
Onnig- You are right that all sin, and that all sin is horrendous in the eyes of God. But if we also care about the fact that we sin and acknowledge that it is wrong and ask the Lord's help in not sinning, we are acknowledging that there is a God whom we love and respect. That is a far cry from where the country has come in the last years. Those who died were no greater sinners than any of us, I agree. And as far as who is deserving of death? Is anyone so "good" that they aren't? As far as II Chronocles 7:14 goes, through believing, I am a son (or daughter) of Abraham. The promises made to him are also made to me, and the advice given to him I am to learn from, also. Or are we to throw the OT out and say it is inapplicable and not meant for us? I still say, we have come from a nation who had it's faith in God, to a nation that honors man above all and whatever satisfies man is OK. Prayer in school is honoring God and we can't do that. Abortion denies that God is the creator. The 10 commandments, although written for the Hebrews, are a good guideline given from God, but we can't post them. Hugging trees is ok and having an "alternate lifestyle" is to be promoted. This is a far cry from the way I was taught when I went to school. But we have become a nation so full of ourselves that at no time will we attribute anything bad that happens as something God would allow. If it was something good, howerver, we would be the first to accept it as being from god because we deserve it. We won't humble ourselves to anyone. Those poor people just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, just as it could have been you or me. But we are left, so we are called to arms to pray and spread the gospel and be about the Lord's business instead of our own. Debbie |

Ed- If the bible says the mark or number of the beast is 666, the way my computer has been acting lately - it may fit! Debbie |

98 | and a jezebel spirit..? | Rev 2:20 | glory777 | 16542
Blessings, Cate- Also note that Ahab gave up his authority of being the leader to Jezebel. In many marriages of today, the Jezebel spirit is alive and strong, with the woman doing and using everything in her power to take over the male leadership role. This is totally going against the will of God, as Jezebel did then. Debbie |

100 | The bible is a work of fiction - discuss | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 15542
I agree, Sir- If they are genuinely on a quest, there are ample threads dealing with most questions. If there are still questions, then let them post. But when a person comes on out of "pity" for those of us who know the Lord God and know of all His blessings, I would call it an antogonistic post. There is no opening for honest discussion. In Christ - there is no other Way- Debbie |
