761 | God the Son symbolized as light | John | CDBJ | 235104
This might be what you are looking for! John 1:7-10 (NKJV) 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 9:5 (NKJV) 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." CDBJ |

763 | Understanding the Trinity | John 1:1 | CDBJ | 161056
Hello Noveta, I think where the problem is, is with the verses you chose; there is no sign of the trinity in those particular verses. I believe you might have your eye on the wrong emphasis. Mark 12:26-27 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? [27] He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. The emphasis in these verses is on the living and the dead not on the trinity. Those listening to Jesus were of the house of Israel and they knew about Abraham, his son and his son’s son and those three were all trusting in the coming Messiah. Christ pointed out even though the flesh of those mentioned was dead they are still alive with God in soul and spirit. They were alive because they actually trusted in God’s Christ the one we now know as Jesus the Son of God. John 11:21-27 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. [22] But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. [23] Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. [24] Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. [25] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? [27] She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. Emphasis is on those that live and not those that die as unbelievers; there is no hope for them outside of God’s plan for everlasting life which is only in His Son Jesus. Thus, God is only the God of the living not the dead. Those that die ouside of Christ will be by them selves in obscurity for ever without God. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

John 1:9 There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. John 1:9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. John 1:9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was going to come into the world. John 1:9 The real light, which shines on everyone, was coming into the world. John 1:9 There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world. John 1:9 The true light was that which, coming into the world, lightens every man. 766 | Cont radiction??? | John 1:14 | CDBJ | 184012
Hi San Lukas, If you think that might be a problem how would you consider this last part in the following verse? Acts 20:28 (B) to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Emphasis on "HIS OWN BLOOD" Jesus came into this world to pay a debt that He didn’t owe, because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay! John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. It’s not a problem for one of the members of the triune God to become a man. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God did the work it was His love in Christ. God’s love is so fantastic that He made the decision to die for us in eternity past so we could spend the future eternity with Him. God cannot just excuse man sin and still remain Holy; He must satisfy His righteousness so His justice must punish sin: God’s character "has to" remain intact. God can’t die as God so he actually had to became a man so He could die in our place, as a substitution, which completely satisfies the righteousness of God. What the Righteousness of God demands the Justice of God must execute. When a person accepts and believes, or trusts in the finished work that God did personally for them, on the cdoss in the person of Jesus, God promise to give them eternal life. We know that God was pleased with the work of the Son, Jesus, because He brought Him back to life. John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? I don’t mean to go on and on but that message still excites me and I praise the Lord for what He has done for me, CDBJ |

767 | can god dwell in the flesh? | John 1:14 | CDBJ | 184714
Hello dshorty2004 and welcome to the forum. God not only can but He did dwell in human flesh. 1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. Acts 20:28 (B) to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Col. 2:8-9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 768 | In Acts 13:33 meaning of begotten? | John 1:18 | CDBJ | 175776
Hi peetee and welcome to the forum, As was pointed out, the Koine Greek word, that was used in the original language of the New Testament was the word, MONOGENES; it carries the connotation of being the uniquely born one. There is no one in existence that has the unique qualities that Jesus Christ has. He is different from man in that He is 100 percent God; he is different from God in that HE is 100 percent man: He is the God man. 1 Tim. 2:3-6 KJV For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Galatians 3:20 NASB Now a mediator is not for one party only; whereas God is only one. Jesus being the uniquely born one, from God, is the only mediator between God and Man being the God man himself and equal with both parties. Therefore: John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me. What a fantastic plan, have a great day, CDBJ |

770 | Hank, all I need is just one quote. | John 3:5 | CDBJ | 113346
Hello arrow1, Here is another verse that shows that water baptism is what John 3:5 is referred to. Ephes. 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, The word here must have meant baptism. We all know that this being the case we must all have baptism to bring about faith as the first thing before conversion. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Here the word really means baptism again? This next verse is talking about those that bring us to be baptized, I think, since that is the logical progression to being born of the Spirit? Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Here we have James mentioning baptism and how it is engrafted or implanted or impregnated to bring about berth from the Koine Greek word EMPHUTOS. James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Did that all seem logical, I hope not? It’s by the grace of God through faith in His word that brings about being born of the Spirit. The water is the Word of God that brings us to the place of trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. We are not supposed to be baptized until AFTER we believe, so water baptism cannot and does not precede being born of the Spirit. One can’t believe in Christ apart from the Word, but they sure can believe with out the use of H2O. Believing in Christ is the result of the action of God by the revealing to the lost about His precious Son through His precious Word and the unbeliever responding in faith to what God has told him. There is no difference between what we believe about Christ and what Abraham believed about Christ. Did you ever read about Abraham being baptized? Galatians 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Maybe believed here meant baptism???????? Have a great day, CDBJ |

771 | Lost- backsliding; can't have kids | John 3:16 | CDBJ | 219742
Greetings and the Lord's best to you anyway, You say you are a believer in Christ? Do you believe God’s Word? Do you believe the following verse in God’s Word? Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. “If” you believe that verse, try practicing the following two verses! Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. It sounds like, from what you’ve said, that you are being lead by your emotions instead of having your mind transformed by God’s Word in order to prove God’s perfect will for your life. 1 Cor. 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? When you finally come to the realization of God’s will for your life you will be able to do the following. 1 Thes. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. You “could” end up having a baby and be the most miserable person that has ever walked the face of this Earth!!! Who knows best, you or God? Do you really want God’s will for your life, or your will? Again: ------ Can you say as with Paul, “And we know? Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Notice it doesn’t say all things are good! CDBJ |

773 | Did Jesus baptize anyone? | John 4:2 | CDBJ | 198831
Hi Skip, This verse isn't a reference to water baptism per se but it is a real baptism performed by Jesus. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. I was taught that “everyone, individually,” will receive a baptism by Jesus. As born again believers in Christ we are baptized with the Spirit. On the other hand, all unbelievers will receive a baptism of fire at some point in their future. Those are two very antithetical baptisms but the very same Jesus. It’s interesting in the original language of the New Testament that the word BAPTIZO is in the "indicative mood", which means it is a certainty and will be a “reality”. Enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

775 | equal with God by nature | John 5:18 | CDBJ | 167986
Hi Tena and welcome to the forum. By comparing certain verses of scripture, in the Bible, with other verses, it paints a real vivid picture of who Jesus is. All will stand before God for judgment. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: The Bible shows us who this judge will be. John 5:21-22 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. [22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Thomas was speaking to Jesus, John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus created the very earth that he walked on. Col. 1:14-22 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Couple that verse with the following verse. Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Did you notice the God purchased it with his “own Blood”? He became a human to do that and His human name was Jesus. Col. 1:15 [Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] For by him were all things created, “The him is Jesus”, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. [19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; [20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled: [22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: Jesus is the answer to what is referred to as the mystery of eternal life. John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30] I and my Father are one. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Worship and praise God the Son and Live! CDBJ |

776 | Inability to believe | John 5:24 | CDBJ | 63475
I would like to examine the first part of your question. (How is it possible that a loving and just God, could eternally condemn unbelievers to eternal torment, for their inability to believe the gospel message and respond in faith?) A loving God has made provision so that they won’t have to experience eternal torment; he just doesn’t force people to accept it. Is the captain of a ship at fault if he finds someone afloat in the middle of the ocean in a floundering boat and they refuse his help? Is a fireman at fault if someone refuses to follow him out of a burning building by stiff-arming him and telling him to leave them alone. I don’t see where love is the point of contention in these situations. Do you blame the man who planted the vineyard for not being kind to those that mistreated and killed his son? He made provision for them and they refused what he provided. Matthew 21:33-41 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: [34] And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. [35] And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. [36] Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. [37] But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. [38] But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. [39] And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. [40] When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? [41] They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. The Holiness of God is made up of his rightness and justice. What the rightness of God demands the justice of God executes. It is impossible for God to maintain his Holiness without executing his judgment or justice on those that refuse his grace gift of salvation that came to us through his Son Jesus. |

779 | Becoming a christian | John 6:37 | CDBJ | 222889
Greetings, According to Scripture one is already a Christian before they can even be baptized, other wise it “isn’t a meaningful” baptism. Acts 8:35-38 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; (When should one be baptized) what doth hinder me to be baptized? (Answer, i.e. condition) 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. (Believe what; that Jesus is God’s appointed one even the very Son of God Himself) And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (Result) 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Baptism is the first thing one can do in obedience to the Father as a new born child of the family of God. Have a great day, CDBJ |

780 | Becoming a christian | John 6:37 | CDBJ | 222899
Well for starters; If Water baptism has anything to do with ones salvation then the apostle John has misinformed all those that read his gospel. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. No mention of water baptism and the totality for John writing the book was to inform us how to have eternal life, not to mention the following. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Again not baptism! John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Either John was very forgetful, disobedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit when penning the Word, or it isn’t a must within the confines of Salvation in Jesus. He made the same mistake again when he wrote his first epistle; Tongue in cheek! 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Paul must have been consumed by the same malady, the neglect of water baptism. Ephes. 1:12-14 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. There again the neglect of baptism. Any one who tries to add his own personal efforts, which “includes water baptism” along with the numerous other things that people include “for salvation”, are nullifying the function of total faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross and the plan of God. Therefore they are not saved by grace through faith ALONE in “Christ alone” seeing they are having faith in their baptism in addition to what God has done for them in Jesus: Thus canceling the fundamental of true faith and their eternal life in Christ! Being baptized in water for salvation makes about as much sense as having a free ride on a jet plane going 600 MPH; then stepping out the door of the plane at 35000 feet to try and help speed it up by pushing. Jesus did it all! John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Is there any work that man can do to please God when it comes to salvation? This is it: John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
