744 | Do demons still exists? | Eph 6:12 | prayon | 29818
Greetings, Eerdman's Bible dictionary defines demons as 'a spirit with minor powers.' "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers" (demons) "of darkness of this world". Eph 6:12. Eph 4:27 warns us to not "give place to the devil". 1Tim 4:1 tells us that in latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits (demons), and doctrines of the devil. The NT depicts demons as any evil spirit. Yes, Kaman there are still demons today. They can exist in any form. They can even disguise themselves as angels of light. They can be found everywhere where there is anything that would keep you from worshipping the One true and living God and giving your life totally to Him. prayon |

745 | Searching for the truth | Eph 6:12 | prayon | 72931
Greetings FytRobert, Ephesians tell us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but instead against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. All battles are between God and Satan. Christians are involved in this war because we are part of God's army that wage war in the heavenlies by the power of prayer. We have been given the power to bring Satan and his demons down. Non Christians are involved because with or without knowing it they war on the side of evil. You can either be for good or evil, for God or for Satan. There is no gray area. If you have not given your life to Christ then you are on the side of evil. Hope this helps. prayon |

746 | sharp tongues | Eph 6:19 | prayon | 92652
Greetings Brad, Here are some additional verses: Psa 64:3-6 Sharp tongues are the swords they wield; bitter words are the arrows they aim. They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly. They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps. “Who will ever notice?” they ask. As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning. Prov 17:20 He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil. Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Pro 21:23 Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles. prayon |

750 | how do i come closer to god? | Phil 4:8 | prayon | 167118
Greetings and welcome to the forum! You are not alone in your fears - many people have felt that way. Every emotion that you mentioned - fear, doubt, and unworthiness are not from God - they come from Satan. What is happening is you are seeking God and when you seek God you become a threat to Satan and his plans. Any time you become a threat to him he will put every type of emotion he can to stop you from growing closer to God. Here are some scriptures that will help you when you begin to doubt in God. Fear: Psa 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation. Who is there to fear? The LORD is my life's fortress. Who is there to be afraid of? Psa 34:4 I went to the LORD for help. He answered me and rescued me from all my fears. Isa 41:10 Don't be afraid, because I am with you. Don't be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand. 2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Doubt: Joh 20:27 ...do not be ready to disbelieve but to believe." Heb 12:1 Since we are surrounded by so many examples of faith, we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. Discouragement: Jos 1:9 "I have commanded you, 'Be strong and courageous! Don't tremble or be terrified, because the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.'" Mat 17:20 He told them, "Because you have so little faith. I can guarantee this truth: If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Unworthiness: Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. Gen 1:26-27 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female. Psa 139:14 I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well. Always remember do not dwell on your fears but instead Phi 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable. Hope his helps, prayon |

Both of the books are known as the eschatological epistles. The main themes are the return of Christ, the rapture and the 2nd coming. Some of the purposes were: to comfort the church, answer false allegations to encourage the persecuted church remind them of the importance of moral purity condemn the sluggard lifestyle correct a wrong understanding of prophetic events difuse tension in the church teach the basics of Christian living.
