Hello chaney, Literally, this is better read "Do not cling to me." The problem was that Mary did not want to let Jesus go and take his rightful place in heaven. Steve |

63 | whatimpressions did moses have at the bu | Ex 3:6 | srbaegon | 230413
Hello sherlean52, Since we are not told what Moses was thinking, this is only a guess. What we see is that Moses was afraid (Ex 3:6) and felt completely inadequate (4:1, 10). Steve |

64 | does the bible have adhd/odd references | Bible general Archive 4 | srbaegon | 230268
Hello janice1960, The Bible does not address this, but we not not expect it to do so since these are modern terms. And there are no indicators of anyone in the Bible displaying such characteristics. Steve |

65 | how does the bible describe spiritual si | Rom 7:25 | srbaegon | 230266
Hello Vanessa43, Romans 7 has nothing to do with spiritual sickness. Romans 7 deals with the Christian warring with the vestiges of the sin nature. Steve |

66 | Why did the Nation of Israel perish? | Bible general Archive 4 | srbaegon | 230264
Hello Jaime413, What is the context of your question? I ask because there is a political entity by this name dwelling within the confines of the ancient borders described in the Old Testament. So in this context, Israel has not perished. Steve |

67 | why id paul oppose circusission | NT general | srbaegon | 230196
Hello sarat, The difference between Christians in the two towns is this: Jerusalem was a Jewish city with some Gentiles living in it; Antioch was a Gentile city with some Jews living in it. Circumcision was a Jewish rite and was therefore not applicable to the nations. Steve |

71 | Did Daniel bow when the 3 did not? | Daniel | srbaegon | 228984
Hello morleyde, There is no definitive statement concerning Daniel during this episode, so Bible teachers assume he was not present but off on an envoy mission for the king and was not affected by the decree. Steve |
||||||
72 | To whom was the book of Ruth written? | Ruth | srbaegon | 228982
Hello Kempy, The best we can say is that it was written to or for the nation of Israel (see http://bible.org/article/introduction-book-ruth). Steve |

75 | How do we be positive into a negative? | Bible general Archive 4 | srbaegon | 228957
Hello Linnie, The best way is to remember what has been accomplished for you because of the Lord Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. (As an example, Eph 1:3-14.) Then determine to endure through the negative situations (2 Tim 2:1-7) and keep your eye on the prize (Phil 3:13-14). The apostle Paule lived for two days: today and that day (the day of the Lord's appearing). It should be the same with us. Steve |

76 | God's intervention in scriptures | Is 43:19 | srbaegon | 228955
Hello FAYTH, God's divine intervention begins in Genesis 1:1 and goes through the end of the Bible. Perhaps you have something more specific in mind. The only passage that has "behold I will do a new thing" is Isaiah 43:19, but I find no verse that states "call it forth in righteousness." Steve |
||||||
77 | Faithful without faith? | Heb 11:1 | srbaegon | 228953
Hello stellah44, The word "faithful" means "full of faith." If you have no faith, you cannot be faithful. Perhaps your real question is: Is a person able to persevere while questioning faith or without feeling faithful? Is that true, or did I miss the mark? Steve |
||||||
78 | At what point will I go to Heaven? | Phil 1:23 | srbaegon | 228939
Hello janierudack2, Yes, we go to heaven as soon as we die. The confusion is in the resurrection. As you note, the dead in Christ rise first, then we who are alive will be as well. That rising is described in 1 Cor 15. Those who have died will have their souls reunited with their bodies. Steve |

79 | NT Chronology | NT general | srbaegon | 228863
As to the Revelation writing, the Preterist view of eschatology (end things) views Jesus' prophecies of the end in Matthew to have all been fulfilled in the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70. Also, since Revelation does not mention a destroyed temple, it must have been written before that date. Steve |
