Searcher56, Please forgive me. It seems as though my question may have appeared offensive in some way. Please understand that it was not meant to be that way. In the post by Makarios on 2/20 at 3:30 AM I recieved the scripture information that was needed for me to understand that angels cannot not reproduce with humans. Please bear with me as I attempt to explain why I even asked this question because it is important to me that the forum understand my intentions. I have been a "back woods" Christian for many years. In other words, I have had very limited access to such wonderful learning tools as the forum. It is important to me that I study and learn as much as possible about the Word of GOD so that when I share with with others I understand what I am sharing, whether it be salvation through Jesus Christ or events in the Old Testament. On this particular subject for example I have always told others, when they ask, that the sons of GOD were fallen angels. Apparently I have been wrong. This concerns me! I want to go to them and correct what I have told them! Since I cannot, I will pray that the right information is revealed to them. This is my purpose in the forum. If I seem imature in the knowledge of the Bible and in the wording of the questions or answers that I post, I am truely sorry. In addition, If my reason for involvement with the forum is a waste of the Saints' time then please direct me to a web sight that would provide teachings to me that are geared more toward my purpose. I do not want to waste anyone's time and especially do not want to offend any of GOD's wonderful children. From now on if I have questions regarding a subject that is posted I will do a search on it before posting a question, answering a question, or following up with a note. prayon, I hope that you read this note. I Love you in Christ Jesus. If I've offended you in any way please know that I am truely sorry. LOVE IN JESUS CHRIST, my LORD and SAVIOR, Cyclist |

64 | Praise the Lord! | Exodus | Cyclist | 67945
"Sister" Blessed be the name of the Lord our God! Praise be to the Lord our God! Holy is the Lord our God! I will praise Him early in the morning! I will praise Him the day long! I will praise Him when I lay down to sleep! Praise the name of the Lord! The above has nothing to do with the point I want to make, I just always open and close my postings with praise to the Lord God. There are some who enter this forum at times that stir up strife and confusion. Whether intending to or not, I don't know. I do believe that your intent is to help in any way that you can and not to stir up any kind of strife, and, I believe that your intent is to post notes or answers that are in the guidelines of this forum and the word of God. Please do not be offended by Hank's postings. He is and elder to this forum, and as far as you and one like myself are concerned, an elder in Christ. You write in your profile: "I do not go to chuch regularly but I read and study the bible everyday and am finding that, regardless of my NEWNESS to the Word, God is using me, even me, to inspire others to get to know Him!" I capitalized newness. I believe that Hank is doing his best to protect ones like you and I from them that may lead us away from the word of God. I am thankful for my elders in Christ, and, I hope that you will be to. We are all corrected at times. In Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

65 | Easter questions | Ex 12:2 | Cyclist | 37372
Mommapbs, Emmaus, wannabe, angel1, Good day to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Any comment on the different wording in the KJV / NASB versions; Acts 12:4 KJV "easter" / NASB "passover". I've spent most all of my Christian life in the KJV. I do agree that there should be a celebration, every day, of Christ's resurection! I have a reputation of being a zealous person though. King James Version Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. NASB Acts 12:4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four (1) squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after (2) the Passover to bring him out before the people. In Christ, Cyclist |

Brother Tim, You are welcome to jump in on any question, answer, or note that I post to the forum. Thank you for doing so. Should I disregard the KJV? My family has always celebrated the easter holiday with prayer and worship to Jesus and with easter eggs. I have always stressed to them that it is the celebration of Jesus being raised from the dead. My family knows and understands this. After reading some of the postings I must admit that I feel a little ashamed for allowing my children to color eggs at easter time. I know that those who posted these comments are not God and cannot judge anyone, no offense intended, but I would like to see, if you are willing, some more comments with regard to the easter holiday and the coloring of easter eggs, etc... Comments from you as believers with me in Jesus are important to me. That is why I am part of this forum. Please read the following scriptures. How did Paul become as those without law? How did he become as those that are weak? Are these scriptures that do not apply to the subject matter of the original posting about easter? 1 Cor 9:19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more. 1 Cor 9:20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law; 1 Cor 9:21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law. 1 Cor 9:22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some. 1 Cor 9:23 I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it. In Christ's Love, Cyclist |

Dear Brother Tim, Please accept my apology. It was never and will never be my intent to drag any one into a disagreement or debate. Mommapbs, Thanks for this information! This is the first time that the origin of these traditions have been explained to me. Col 2:8 is the right verse for this subject. I will also read Job 36:7-12. Imagine, 43 years old and still learning! P.S. angel1 if you read this. I do ride a bicycle 120 miles per week and a motorcycle about 1000 miles per year. Thanks for caring enough to take time for me. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist |

72 | Can Pareyr change God's plan? | Ex 32:14 | Cyclist | 54212
Joe, Thank you for your input! As I typed in my response to daffy, I look forward to seeing some of the postings on this, not seeking opportunity to challenge anyone or begin a debate, but, it has been a question in mind for many years. I looked in different translations because, as I typed in my answer (to daffy): "when I read Romans 9 I see that God has pre-destinated and pre-ordained everything.", I have always wondered why it is written "God changed His mind". I have always been of the mind that "I will not question the Lord my God", and still am, so I have never asked about this until now. Here are the results from the translations I looked into: NIV - "relented" NASB - "changed His mind" AMPLIFIED - "turned from" NEW LIVING TRANSLATION - "withdrew from His threat" KJV - "repented" NEW KJV - "relented from" 21st CENTURY KJV - "repented" ASV - "repented" YOUNGS LITERAL TRANS - "repenteth" DARBY - "repented" Also you write "so it is best to think of "God changing his mind" as an apparent change in time and space....." I have two things to say in response; First of all, and please, please, please do not take offense, when someone says, or types in this case, to me when discussing the word of God "so it is best to think...". I always question, Is this man's wisdom? Is there scripture to back what is being said/written? Second, I do not understand this part "...as an apparent change in time and space.....". Thanks again Joe for your post. I have read some of your posts since I've been a part of this forum, and, have learned from them. In Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Emmaus, Praise be to the Lord our God! His mercy endures forever! I give thanks to the Lord daily for salvation through Jesus Christ! Praise be to the Lord our God! Thank you for the response to my question. Emmaus, I looked in your personal profile for an e-mail address, and, I understand if you do not want to divulge it. I would like to see comments from you on a matter of great importance to a co-worker of mine. A close member of her family had "stillborn" twins. She was raised in a Catholic school and attends a Catholic church regularly. She has shared this situation with me and is very concerned because the infants were not baptised before burial. She said that she has learned since then from reading that she could have baptised them herself. Of course the obvious thing for her to do is consult with her priest, and, maybe she has. She is a person of very few words and always puts the needs of others before herself, sometimes to the point of being burdened by their needs. Frankly, I am suprised, but glad, that she shared her burden with me. I did a "search" in the forum on the subject of infants and their salvation but found no comments from you. From reading your postings, which I regard highly, I see that God has blessed you, as well as others in this forum, and I would like to see what God would show you in this matter. I too have difficulty in situations such as this that involve infants and children for there are times when I lay awake at night weeping for children. If you have commented on this subject in a previous posting and I have missed it please forgive me. My e-mail address is dave@gowithats.com. Thank you forum members for allowing me to post this personal situation. It is not my intent to disrupt the flow of postings that help us to better understand the word of God. I will not make a habit of it. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

78 | Did David disobey? | 1 Kin 3:14 | Cyclist | 110260
Rowdy, Blessed be the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of himself but gave His own life for us! Sorry for the delay in responding to you. Thank you for your post to my question. What you have written is interesting. I still do wonder why the Lord our God said ....."keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, ...... If I understand your response correctly, our hearts and minds need to be focused on the Lord and His will. Do you suppose that David knew that he was committing sin(s) while he was doing these things? or, Do you think that he was just so caught up in fleshly lust that he lost sight of the Lord? Obviuosly he tried to "fix it" himself by having Uriah killed. Alweays your brother in prayer and praise to the Lord our God, Cyclist PS - I need to update my prfile a little. Thanks for reading it! I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

79 | Why should we obey God? | Psalm | Cyclist | 64111
Whatever, The Lord is my rock and my salvation! I will praise Him in my heart with songs of praise the day long! You write:'"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love" means God's abiding love is based on keeping the commandsments?. Sounds counter to Paul's overall message...Doesn't God Love all Christians the same?' God's greatest commandment(s) is about love: Matt 22:35 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, Matt 22:36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" Matt 22:37 And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' Matt 22:38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. Matt 22:39 "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' Matt 22:40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. When Jesus came into my life this commandment of His in John 15 was and is not a commandment to me at all, no, I desire to love others and need to love others like I need to breath daily because He, even though giving me the commandment through the scripture, also gave me the desire and the satisfaction of loving Him and others. It is indeed a commandment that, if kept, is very rewarding. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

80 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | Ps 46:10 | Cyclist | 75705
mommapbs, I begin each day on my knees with my hands lifted up and with a heart of thanksgiving I praise the Lord my God! Praise be to Him forever more! Blessed be His holy name! Sorry for the delay in responding to your post which I found to be very helpful and encouraging, THANK YOU! This is the very reason I thank our Lord for this forum family! One other post that really helped me was one from Searcher. He posted James 5:14. I read James 5:13, 14, 15 and was suprised to learn that I may actually be directed to ask for healing of this body that the Lord has given me to use on this earth. James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he MUST pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he MUST call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; James 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Notice the word MUST in these verses (I capitalized). I haven't asked to be prayed for by the elders of the church nor have I asked the Lord to heal me. Thanks be to God for His word! I called the elders the very next day. I have always prayed for others to be healed but never this body. Praise be to God, I am now free from the pride that has always said "Spend time heal others Lord but don't spend time healing this body" or "Lord if it be possible take the infirmity fom the one suffering and give it to me". What a fool I have been in this! Well, He is very loving and merciful, and, I have recieved correction, hopefully as a good son and and forgiveness and am now asking for this body to be healed so that I may continue the work He has for me to perform on this earth. A work am so very honored to perform for Him! Blessed be His name forever! Always your brother in praise and in prayer and in the loving spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in mouth! |
