Hank, I will praise the LORD my God when I rise in the morning! I will praise the LORD my God while today is today! I will praise the LORD my God when I lay down to sleep! Blessed be the name of the LORD! I must confess. I read your post more 10 minutes ago and am still laughing! Thank you for the chuckle. I really, really needed it! I agree with you. Lev 18:8 'You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness. Lev 20:11 'If there is a man who lies with his father's wife, he has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death, their bloodguiltiness is upon them. Blessings to you! David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

42 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | NT general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 38618
Dear Seacher56 and Hank, Praise God for that Great things he has done! You are right, Heb 6:6 and fallen away have been discussed many times. I'm sorry if the postings and repostings on these subjects bother you. Some of us are probably not as knowledgable of the scriptures as you are, and , certainly my vocabulary is not as good as Hanks. Very impressive Hank! If any of my posts are not worthy of response by either of you, simply do not respond, however, I have learned much from previous postings by both of you. I've posted a few verses of scripture for you. Please be patient with us: Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Are we weaker than you? Please accept and bear with us: Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Please don't grow weary of helping us understand the Bible. I am a part of this forum to grow stronger in Christ: 2 Thess 3:13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. In Christ's Love, Cyclist To God be all glory and honor and praise for ever more! |

Hank, Thank you! Your level of maturity as a Christian far exceeds mine! I will catch up though! There is one thing about searching in the forum that hinders me. I usually desire to read all postings and it becomes very time consuming because one must click on every posting to read it. It would be great to be able to view all postings at once. Even though one would need to flip through pages it would still be less time consuming. I look forward to reading your postings. No need to respond. Cyclist |

44 | Is baptism a work? | NT general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 66381
charis, I will glorify the King of Kings and Lord of lords who is Christ Jesus, our Savior! I will praise the name of Jesus Christ in my heart and with my voice the day long! I will rise up in the morning praising Him! I will go to sleep praising Him! I haven't had the pleasure of exchanging posts with you before. I think that your post is excellent! I often wonder why baptism is considered a "work" when it comes up on the forum. There are so many posts on this subject that it takes a good hour or two for someone like myself to absorb all of the different views and opinions. However, I never grow weary of reading the scriptures on the subject. Please bear with me charis and forum members as I give my own opinion on baptism. I never have considered baptism a "work" or as a requirement for salvation. When I was an infant in Christ I was excited about and eager to be baptised! For two reasons. Number one, my Lord and Savior was baptised and I was, and still am, eager and longing to follow as closely in His footsteps as possible! Of course I know I will never ever be equal to Him but I desire to be like Him. Second, because of this passage in Romans. Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Rom 6:5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, WOW! To me this is exciting! To be buried with my Savior and to be risen into newness of life! How could baptism be view as a "work" to anyone? As I have written before on this forum I was baptised in a small lake. It was an experience I shall never forget! The excitement of following in my Lord's footsteps! He was baptised and so was I! The excitement of being buried with Him and raised into newness of life! Oh well, I've averaged about three to four hours of sleep each night this week so maybe this sounds a little "corny", but, I love Jesus Christ my Savior and I would invite anyone to experience baptism the same way that I have. I was so full of joy that I came out of the water praising Him! In Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Tim, I will praise the Lord our God with my whole heart! I will praise the Lord my God because He knows my mind and my heart! I am thankful to Him because nothing is hidden from Him! It's a little cool to be riding outside in the mornings in east central Illinois. I start my rides at around 5:30 AM. During the cooler months I place my bicycle on a training stand and ride inside. I ride outside as long as this body can tolerate it. When the temp drops into the low 40s the toes begin to go numb, even with thick socks. Thank you for your post. It certainly helps us, me anyway, understand. Blessings to you brother! It's been a while since we've exchanged posts. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hank, Praise the Lord for ever more! Praise Him for His excellence! Praise Him for His Greatness! Praise Him for His unconditional love for us! Praise the Lord! I will rejoice and be glad because the Lord provided salvation for us through Jesus Christ, His Son! I will praise the Lord all the day long! Just a note to say that I was conducting a search on the subject of eternity. Being the fool that I sometimes am, I've tried to imagine eternity in my fleshly mind and have been struggling with the fact that I simply cannot. What a fool I am in this. Your post on 6/16/01 helped me with this. Thank You! I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continualy be in my mouth! Cyclist |

49 | Where did Cains wife come from | Gen 1:1 | Cyclist | 61672
Assy, All glory and honor and praise be to God our Father, and to Jesus Christ who died for our sins! You are answering a question from April of 2002, and, the answer to the queation asked is actaully in the question itself. I noticed that there are postings on this subject that, to me, support the fact that Cain married one of his relatives. I don't see in the scriptures that you have given to support your answer where people were on the earth before Adam and Eve. Blessing in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Assy, From the rising of the sun to it's setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. Praise the name of the Lord! Here is scripture that, the way I read it, supports the fact that Adam was the very first man (human). 1 Cor 15:45 So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 20 1 Cor 15:47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. Blessings! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! Hi Assy, I will praise the Lord for He is kind and merciful and loving! He alone is worthy of praise! I will praise my God for He created in me a new heart and forgave me of my sins! You write: "When I asked this question before, I was told to pray and asked God to reveal to me the answer. The answer I gave previously is what God revealed to me. So I challenge each of you, to pray and ask God to reveal the answer to you." I pray continually to my Father in heaven the day long, so, a challenge to pray is not necessary, but it is good advice and appreciated. 1 Thess 5:17 pray without ceasing; In January of this year I pray to the Lord my God for more knowledge of His Word and to fill me more with His spirit of wisdom. This forum was and is His answer to those prayers. I'm reposting what I posted to you yesterday (at the end of this post), sorry for the long post. Please keep in mind that there are those on this forum that may very well be, and as far as I am concerned, our elders. 1 Pet 5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. Repost: "By the way, Welcome to the forum! This is a GREAT place to study and learn about God's Word! 53 | The bible is a work of fiction - discuss | Gen 1:1 | Cyclist | 72348
Dear callmethewolfe All praise and glory and honor be to GOD our Father and to His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins! Blessed be His name forever! Welcome to this BIBLE Study Forum! Please consider the following scripture. Notice that when Paul states "those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God", he doesn't add something like "unless............" Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

54 | question to smoke pot or not | Gen 1:12 | Cyclist | 54807
Dear elders in Christ, and, new Christians, and, those of you that are visiting this forum and may not know Jesus Christ as savior, I must say that this thread about smoking pot brings tears to my eyes, not because of the content of the postings, but, because of the subject itself. Please allow me a little liberty here if you will. I am an ex-street gang member, pot smoker, acid user, crack user, and other drugs that I do not even remember. In addition I am an ex-drug dealer. Please, please, please do not take this matter of pot smoking lightly! I must apoligize because I have not read every posting in this thread, but, I have seen some commentary that says, and this is not the exact wording, that smoking pot is "OK", or, "With proper use is not a problem", and, "There are bad experiences and good experiences with smoking pot". It is with a sorrowful heart and tears that I share the following with you because the old man is dead forever, but, I am compelled to post this. I have seen, as well as experienced, both good and bad effects of pot. I have smoked it, eaten it, and made hashish from it. I've been to the hospital with people who have smoked it. I have witnessed brutal beatings of people as a result of pot smoking parties. Orgies are a result of pot smoking. I have seen, and it is with many tears that I write this my friends, little children go uncared for to the point of unchanged diapers for days, unfed, naked, left alone, and "high" from pot being smoked in the same room. When high, the children were disoriented, falling off of furniture at times because they could not sit upright, and not in there right mind. I'm sorry, I cannot go on friends, tears have turned to weeping. There is more though, more that I do not want to remember. Those of you that are Christians and desire to smoke pot please see the following from the KJV. I know what pot can do with the imagination. 2 Corinthians 10 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Thank you my Lord and my God and my Savior for loving me enough to pull out of that life! In the Love of Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Norrie, I will praise my God from the rising of the sun to it's setting! I will always be thankful Jesus who died for me and to my Heavenly Father because He loved me enough to pull me from that life! Blessed be His name forever more! I will pray for your brother, and, for you because I know how hard it is to see a member of your family with an addiction and physically abused. Just to share my experience with deliverance. You know, of course, I hope anyway, that I was delivered by Jesus, and, so were some others that I knew then, two I know of for sure. In fact, God used me in both cases. Thank you Father! There are, however, many of those that I was friends/aquainted with that were either never delivered (still doing it or dead)or simply replaced it with another addiction. By another addiction I mean, alcohol, excessive eating, gambling, working excessive hours, a hobby that takes alot of time away from family,etc...... Of course, these are better than the drug addiction, or are they? Only Jesus Christ can provide true deliverance. You know the scriptures Norrie. Here are just two that come to mind right away. John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." John 8:31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." Hope this helps Norrie. Please feel free to keep me updated. In Him, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Norrie, I will rejoice in the Lord continually, for he has made me glad! I will rejoice in the Lord, for He loved me enough to continue to call me even when I rejected His calling! I will rejoice in the Lord always! My dear, dear sister, I am taking liberty here, on the forum, to share with you my salvation experience only because this thread is not appearing on the home page. Four things before I start; 1) This is my own experience with the Lord and it should not be assumed that the Lord will deal with anyone else in the same manner, 2) When reading this posting it should not be assumed that I am claiming to belong to or am promoting any particular denomination or doctrine, 3) To my understanding, and this is my opinion, it is important when posting to this forum that one needs to include a scripture reference(s), I may or may not in this posting, and, 4) Please bear with me. I have spent most all of my saved life in the KJV of the bible and my lanquage may reflect that, if need be, I apologize. This salvation of David, so I am called on earth, was like this. When I was a young man of 17 I was, as you know already, into drugs, alcohol (1/2 to 1 pint of vodka daily), heavy rock and roll music, and fornication. I was working in a factory driving a fork lift. Driving a forklift high on pot and drunk! I hit two people and was moved to driving the forklift in the warehouse (There was no pedestrian traffic there). God was so good and patient with me! Thank you so much Father! Jesus Christ began to call me. By the way, there was a woman that worked in that plant, who I consider my spiritual mother, that spoke to me of Jesus. Anyway, when driving alone in the warehouse I always had this feeling of someone, not something, but someone being there with me, no matter where I went. One night I had a dream of being chased in a city street by the police with flashlights. In the dream, I ran into a theater. In the center of the theater was a square opening so I jumped in to hide from the police. I found myself hanging on to a railing, and, there was no bottom! I was hanging on for life! There was just pitch black darness below me. I looked up, A light was being shined in my face. But wait! This was not the police! The light was so bright that it blinded me! What is this! The dream ended. Then, being a lover of music, a song came on the radio, it was in the top ten at that time, and, to me, and, probable me only, had a message from Jesus in it. Each time I heard the song I could here Jesus' voice in my heart. "What's happening to me!" I said to myself at that time. This someone would not leave me alone! Jesus is talking to me music I listen to, speaking to me all of the time when I'm awake, and, even in my dreams! I quit my job. But, my mother had been woking there at that time and talked with a man who I respected vey much, and, he talked with me so I came back to my job. I did move to a different department, not driving a forklift, where I would have to converse with people all of the time so I wouldn't have to deal with Jesus' voice. About 6 months or so after that, I can't remember right now, I met the woman who became my wife. She had two daughters from a previous marriage. I decided that it was time to settle down, after all I had children to take care of now. I became a supervisor in that same factory, and, sometimes to relieve stress I would take the country roads home. Guess who started calling me again when I was driving home alone, no other vehicles around. Jesus Christ called me into His life and I accepted on a beautiful country road. It was wonderful! I'm telling you the truth when I say that I had absolutly no desire for drugs, alcohol, sex, etc... from that point on. I LOVED everyone I met from that point on! My eyes were suddenly opened! Everything looked brighter! I couldn't wait to get up in the morning so that I could spend time learning more about Jesus! I couldn't wait to love someone! Well, that's it Norrie. Sorry for the long post. I love the Lord Jesus Christ so much! How could I not! How can I live any longer in sin! In the love of our Savior and Lord Jesus who thought not of Himself but died for the sins of the world, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Jushafreak, Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised! I will Shout joyfully to the LORD! I will praise Him for His loving kindness! I will praise Him for His mercies! I will praise and uplift the LORD my GOD! Scriptural facts are what you were/are seeking on this subject. From your postings I am convinced that you know scripture, and, that you know how to search scripture. In fact, I am convinced that you know so much about scripture that you are probably capable of winning any debate or argument on this subject, and, maybe other subjects as well. Consider this, and, I will do my best to keep emotion out of it. If you read one my postings in this thread you know that I am an ex-user and an ex-drug dealer. The fact is this; pot has the similar "buzz" effect and altering of thoughts and imagination as alcohol. Just as alcohol leads to drunkeness, so does pot smoking. Having first hand experience with this I will not be convinced otherwise. It is with sorrow that I post the following scripture. Yes it is with emotion that I post it, none the less, it is scriptural fact, that is what you seek. 1 Cor 5:11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. Not that I am anyone. You do not know me nor I you. I am not an elder to this forum nor am I anyone in authority, just a Christian, but, if you continue in your drunkeness, your postings are not worthy of reading or response by me, but, again, I am nothing. I love you in Christ Jeshuafreak. Submitted in the boldness of the spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Blessed be His name forever, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times!
