Dear Brother Tim Sheasby, Thank you so very much for this posting (COL 2:20-3:4)!! Through the word of GOD this matter has been put to rest for me. I have been following this subject since the first posting on 2/13/02 at 4:55 AM and, I must admit, have been a little troubled by some of the postings. Not by the scriptures or factual information but by the failure to edify and uplift one another in some of the postings. Not that I am speaking out against any brothers or sisters in the Lord for I have read some postings from most of you on subjects that I have searched in the forum and have been edified and uplifted. THANK YOU for seeking guidence from GOD and His Word! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU! Cyclist |

Reformer Joe, Thanks for the welcome back! I will Rejoice in the Lord always! From the rising of the sun to it's going down I will praise the Lord! Thanks for your post in response to my question. I will continue to pray and grieve for our Nation. I am going to go back and read the previous postings on this subject like Searcher56 suggested to me. I've been trying to follow all of the postings on this subject but did not see a posting that actually defined "fallen away" as it is written in Heb 6:6 maybe I missed it in one of the postings. Hi tuli! From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the LORD is to be praised! He put a new song in my mouth! Please accept my apology for taking so long to get back to you with a response. I am in upper level management at my job and it has become very demanding of my time recently. I would like to discuss this with you though. Please bear with me and I would appreciate it if you would post any thoughts that you have on the subject you presented. One more thing about this subject of loss of salvation, and this is from the Old Testament: Ps 3:2 Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah. Ps 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. Will try to get back to you soon. Always your brother in Christ, Cyclist Jesus is Lord! His love never fails! |

127 | What is a Christian? | Luke 9:32 | Cyclist | 39964
Dear JdthCstl, Praise be to God our Father who provided salvation to me through His Son Jesus Christ! For I could not have been saved through my works because, naturally, I did not want to live by the Holy Spirit but by those things which are the desires of the flesh, which are naturally against the Spirit. I am writing to you as one who is presently weaker in the faith, weaker, I mean, when compared to those that God has chosen to provide spiritual guidance for me, which are those members of this forum, Mommapbs, Tim Moran, Hank, EdB, John Reformed, and others I'm sure that I have failed to mention but do not esteem myself above them with regard to strentgh in the faith. I must admit Judith that I, again, as weaker than those others in the faith, am afraid for you. In addition, I would ask, not that I am any one in authority to ask this, that you please pray that God lead you to the truth in salvation which is provided only through faith in Jesus. I have listed the scriptures below, as one weaker in the faith than those I mentioned earlier, because I am concerned for you in your understanding of salvation. Praise you Jesus, You alone are Savior and Lord! In Christ, Cyclist Gal 1:6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; Gal 1:7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. Gal 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! Gal 1:9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! |

Mommapds, I will Sing to my GOD, I will sing praises to Him, and, tell of all His wonders! Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised! You write: (My support for this is based upon Jesus' words in Matthew 10:37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.") Would you please explain this verse in a little more detail, or, give an example of lovings one's father or mother, son or daughter more than Jesus. Thanks, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

135 | Where was Lazarus for 4 days? | John 11:11 | Cyclist | 57905
Hi daniel! I will glorify the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who is Jesus Christ! For He did not think of Himself, but, His purpose was to do the will of God our Father, to die for our Sins! Prasie you Jesus Christ! You are Lord! I have read through all of the posts on this subject "Where was Lazarus for 4 days?" By your postings am I to understand that you believe that we simply fall asleep, and, do not exist until the return of Jesus? If so, I submit the following scripture(s): Mark 9:2 Six days later, Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John, and *brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them; Mark 9:3 and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them. Mark 9:4 Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus. Mark 9:5 Peter *said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." Obviously Moses and Elijah exist. and Matt 22:32 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." In addition, You say Lazarus was "asleep". As I read through this event in scripture, Jesus tells the disciples "Lazarus is dead". John 11:12 The disciples then said to Him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover." John 11:13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking of literal sleep. John 11:14 So Jesus then said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead, Nothing here intended to challenge you, or any other for that matter, just letting you know what I see. Hope to hear from you, and, anyone else that desires to join in, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continaully be in my mouth! |

Thank you Tim! Daniel and Kalos gave some very good scripture references to support their posittion(s) on this subject. It has been a very informative discussion, for me anyway, because of the scriptures contained in the postings. Blessings to you brother. It's always good to hear from you! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

137 | Where was Lazarus for 4 days? | John 11:11 | Cyclist | 58026
daniel, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord! I will sing praises to my God! I will sing of His love! I will sing to the Lord! Thank you for reponding to my post. I understand your point about the transfiguration. I am trying to understand you about our being unconscience(sp?), after we are dead, until the return of Jesus. Please, if you will, read and respond to the following scripture(s): 1 Sam 28:3-19 NOTE: Samuel spoke with Saul after Samuel had died. Luke 16:19-16 NOTE: This is Jesus talking about a rich man and the begger Lazarus (not the same Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead). It appears to me that in the scripture Jesus says "There was a rich man....", meaning that this "did" happen. Matt 27:52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; Matt 27:53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. NOTE: If these were to remain "asleep/unconscious" until Jesus return, why then did they appear to many? In addition, you did not respond to this scripture that I posted: Matt 22:32 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." Thanks for giving this your attention. In Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

daniel, Glory be to God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there in is! I will praise my God! He alone is the creator of things, seen and unsee, blessed be the name of the Lord! I have enjoyed our discussion on this subject. Thank you for taking time to respond. You have done very well in providing scripture references in your posts. At this point, I will agree to disagree with you. It is not my purpose to get into a debate that could become "heated", and, I'm sure you feel the same way. Paul writes: "Own no man but to love one another". Again, Thank you! In Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
