67 | who was the Sanhedrin | NT general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 127802
In addition to information you received. EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY ENTRY ON: Sanhedrim more correctly Sanhedrin (Gr. synedrion), meaning "a sitting together," or a "council." This word (rendered "council," A.V.) is frequently used in the New Testament (Mt 5:22; 26:59; Mr 15:1, etc.) to denote the supreme judicial and administrative council of the Jews, which, it is said, was first instituted by Moses, and was composed of seventy men (Nu 11:16-17). But that seems to have been only a temporary arrangement which Moses made. This council is with greater probability supposed to have originated among the Jews when they were under the domination of the Syrian kings in the time of the Maccabees. The name is first employed by the Jewish historian Josephus. This "council" is referred to simply as the "chief priests and elders of the people" (Mt 26:3,47,57,59; 27:1,3,12,20, etc.), before whom Christ was tried on the charge of claiming to be the Messiah. Peter and John were also brought before it for promulgating heresy (Ac 4:1-23; 5:17-41); as was also Stephen on a charge of blasphemy (Ac 6:12-15), and Paul for violating a temple by-law (Ac 22:30; 23:1-10). The Sanhedrin is said to have consisted of seventy-one members, the high priest being president. They were of three classes (1) the chief priests, or heads of the twenty-four priestly courses (1Ch 24:1-31), (2) the scribes, and (3) the elders. As the highest court of judicature, "in all causes and over all persons, ecclesiastical and civil, supreme," its decrees were binding, not only on the Jews in Palestine, but on all Jews wherever scattered abroad. Its jurisdiction was greatly curtailed by Herod, and afterwards by the Romans. Its usual place of meeting was within the precincts of the temple, in the hall "Gazith," but it sometimes met also in the house of the high priest (Mt 26:3), who was assisted by two vice-presidents. 69 | How many humans created? | Genesis | jlpangilinan | 12996
Hi there, I'm interested in what you have mentioned (Christ in his humanity would have no "original sin," ) of course Jesus Christ has no Original sin Becuase he is God. Philippians 2:6-7 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and also ordinary people has no original sin Please see those verses Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. |

70 | How can we understand Genesis 3:15? | Genesis | jlpangilinan | 25580
I hope this would help you. Ge 3:15 v14,15 God passes sentence; and he begins where the sin began, with the serpent. The devil's instruments must share in the devil's punishments. Under the cover of the serpent, the devil is sentenced to be degraded and accursed of God; detested and abhorred of all mankind: also to be destroyed and ruined at last by the great Redeemer, signified by the breaking of his head. War is proclaimed between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. It is the fruit of this enmity, that there is a continual warfare between grace and corruption, in the hearts of God's people. Satan, by their corruptions, buffets them, sifts them, and seeks to devour them. Heaven and hell can never be reconciled, nor light and darkness; no more can Satan and a sanctified soul. Also, there is a continual struggle between the wicked and the godly in this world. A gracious promise is here made of Christ, as the Deliverer of fallen man from the power of Satan. Here was the drawn of the gospel day: no sooner was the wound given, than the remedy was provided and revealed. This gracious revelation of a Saviour came unasked, and unlooked for. Without a revelation of mercy, giving some hope of forgiveness, the convinced sinner would sink into despair, and be hardened. By faith in this promise, our first parents, and the patriarchs before the flood, were justified and saved. Notice is given concerning Christ. 1. His incarnation, or coming in the flesh. It speaks great encouragement to sinners, that their Saviour is the Seed of the woman, bone of our bone, Heb 2:11,14. 2. His sufferings and death; pointed at in Satan's bruising his heel, that is, his human nature. And Christ's sufferings are continued in the sufferings of the saints for his name. The devil tempts them, persecutes and slays them; and so bruises the heel of Christ, who is afflicted in their afflictions. But while the heel is bruised on earth, the Head is in heaven. 3. His victory over Satan thereby. Christ baffled Satan's temptations, rescued souls out of his hands. By his death he gave a fatal blow to the devil's kingdom, a wound to the head of this serpent that cannot be healed. As the gospel gains ground, Satan falls. |

71 | What is the "third heaven"? | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 20294
Jensen, Let me help you Heaven: (1.) Definitions. The phrase "heaven and earth" is used to indicate the whole universe (Ge 1:1; Jer 23:24; Ac 17:24). According to the Jewish notion there were three heavens, (a) The firmament, as "fowls of the heaven" (Ge 2:19; 7:3,23; Ps 8:8, etc.), "the eagles of heaven" (La 4:19), etc. (b) The starry heavens (De 17:3; Jer 8:2; Mt 24:29). (c) "The heaven of heavens," or "the third heaven" (De 10:14; 1Ki 8:27; Ps 115:16; 148:4; 2Co 12:2). The third heaven: Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is. Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? s 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. 2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. at this verse 2Co 12:2 they mentioned the third heaven. Just keep reading the scripture, for formation, and for information. Thanks, Johnny |

72 | Please tell me about the goddess Diana | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 23635
Diana so called by the Romans; called Artemis by the Greeks, the "great" goddess worshipped among heathen nations under various modifications. Her most noted temple was that at Ephesus. It was built outside the city walls, and was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. "First and last it was the work of 220 years; built of shining marble; 342 feet long by 164 feet broad; supported by a forest of columns, each 56 feet high; a sacred museum of masterpieces of sculpture and painting. At the centre, hidden by curtains, within a gorgeous shrine, stood the very ancient image of the goddess, on wood or ebony reputed to have fallen from the sky. Behind the shrine was a treasury, where, as in 'the safest bank in Asia,' nations and kings stored their most precious things. The temple as St. Paul saw it subsisted till A.D. 262, when it was ruined by the Goths" (Ac 19:23-41)., Moule on Ephesians: Introd. Johnny |

74 | Are they the same spirit? | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 23816
This is the queen of heaven that was mentioned in Jeremiah. Queen of heaven (Jer 7:18; 44:17,25), the moon, worshipped by the Assyrians as the receptive power in nature. Your question: "Do you think the appartition (spirit) that claims to be the "queen of heaven" today, is the same false god as mentioned in Jeremiah?" I dont know if you are referring to the "Queen of Heaven of Chatholic which is "Virgin Mary"? if your answer is yes, what can I say is they are different. Infairness to our Catholic brothers and sisters, I respect Mary (as a mother of Jesus Christ when Jesus Christ still in a human form.) But I dont believed in apiration or if there is really an apiration that was mentioned many times of our Catholic brother and sisters. Because what I believed for dead people: Ec 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Ec 9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. If there is aspiration, it could be satan, becuase Satan can be transfomed or can pretend that He is good: 2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. I hope it would helps God bless, Johnny |

76 | Why is it that I cannot find Adonai in | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 36566
It is because we are using English translations. Example word "ELOHIM" is an hebrew word so we cannot find it in the translations. Take a look at this entry in Easton Bible Dictionary: God (A.S. and Dutch God; DA Gud; Ger. Gott), the name of the Divine Being. It is the rendering (1) of the Hebrew 'El, from a word meaning to be strong; (2) of 'Eloah, plural 'Elohim. The singular form, Eloah, is used only in poetry. The plural form is more commonly used in all parts of the Bible, The Hebrew word Jehovah (q.v.), the only other word generally employed to denote the Supreme Being, is uniformly rendered in the Authorized Version by "LORD," printed in small capitals. The existence of God is taken for granted in the Bible. There is nowhere any argument to prove it. He who disbelieves this truth is spoken of as one devoid of understanding (Ps 14:1). 77 | What are God's Names? | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 61824
In the hebrew scriptures you cannot find Jehovah or Yahweh there. The hebrews scriptures stated that the name of God that Moses know is YHWH but in our time no one heard how that name pronounce. word JEHOVAH only came out in the 14th Century I dont belived that God has no name before the 14th Century. Hebrew alphabeth has no letter "J" how come that the name of God is JEHOVAH which is included the letter "J" which is not included in the hebrew alphabeth. Y"A"HW"E"H ("A" "E")also an additional in the YHWH that written in the hebrew scriptures, the put "A" "E" to pronounce it YAHWEH. If you notice that Christ never mentioned the name of God the Father either it is JEHOVAH or not (of course in the bible of JWitnesses you can find it.) If the name of God the Father is Jehovah why Crist not told it to His desciples but instead He called His "Father" and our Father. In the book of Isa 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. It mentioned there "Father" thy name is from everlasting. God bless, Johnny |

78 | Please teach me about the Trinity. | Gen 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 77779
Trinity indeed is not a teaching of the Bible, trinity teach that Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are equal, but Christ said the Father is greater than He is: Joh 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If they really equal, why Christ did not know the time of His second coming? Mr 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Please believed the word of God. God bless, |

If there is someone created god that the God In our human mind we cannot comprehend this things yet! it could be including in the promises of Christ for us if we are with Him in Heaven. 1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
