Bible Question:
Dear LoveIsKind3...What do you mean by "the preAdamic age"? And, what do you mean by "the third heaven"? I know that it may take some effort for you to answer but I am really at a loss especially with the idea of "the third heaven." This is new to me. Will you please find time to discuss this idea? I hope so. We can begin a different thread if you wish. Thank you for getting my interest. I am still pretty new to Christianity and welcome the opportunity to discuss areas that are new to me. God Bless....Jensen |
Bible Answer: Jensen, Let me help you Heaven: (1.) Definitions. The phrase "heaven and earth" is used to indicate the whole universe (Ge 1:1; Jer 23:24; Ac 17:24). According to the Jewish notion there were three heavens, (a) The firmament, as "fowls of the heaven" (Ge 2:19; 7:3,23; Ps 8:8, etc.), "the eagles of heaven" (La 4:19), etc. (b) The starry heavens (De 17:3; Jer 8:2; Mt 24:29). (c) "The heaven of heavens," or "the third heaven" (De 10:14; 1Ki 8:27; Ps 115:16; 148:4; 2Co 12:2). The third heaven: Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is. Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? s 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. 2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. at this verse 2Co 12:2 they mentioned the third heaven. Just keep reading the scripture, for formation, and for information. Thanks, Johnny |
