61 | Biblical Interpretation? | John 7:17 | lionheart | 167303
When it comes to biblical interpretation I think the bible is pretty specific regarding ones right or ability to interpret.2 Peter 1:20,21. Maybe we get application and interpretation mixed up? Maybe? Interpretation remains constant where as applicatin can and does change. No two lives are what we would call identical.We all lead lives that are somewhat different aned at times very different when it comes to the challenges that we each may encounter. What say you? 63 | Could you expand on this? | Acts 2:4 | lionheart | 148615
Thanx bro, In reference to post 148606. In (1Corinthians 12:7-12) Paul references the manifestations of Gods Spirit or gifts as some may refer them as. Understanding when Paul wrote this and to whom and why becomes vital to our understanding of them today. (1Corinthians 13:8-10) I've heard several different views of this passage I have a clue where this is going but my understanding here isnt rock solid,maybe you could expand a little on this. 69 | Am I on the right track? | Rom 2:14 | lionheart | 152233
Hey Doc, I've heard people say in the past that God has chosen a specific number of people that will be saved.Might it be that in saying this that in knowing that God is all knowing and that in his foreknowlededge he knew who would believe and who wouldnt,might this put a little bit clearer perspective on the subject? Looking at in this light then we can say yes God did determine a certain number because he knew who would believe already? It helps me to make a bit more scence of it,but then again I could be wrong.What do you think? In Christ, lionheart |

71 | What do we do with the OT? | Rom 7:6 | lionheart | 149994
Born Twice,Greetings brother. Do we then throw out the old testament?I hope not. Check out Romans 15:4. We do ourselves a great diservice and those God brings to us.It is unwise for us to discount any part of Gods Word. Remember Jesus stated clearly that he came to fulfill the law not abolish it.Look at Romans 15:4 and hopefully this makes some sense. In Christ, lionheart |

73 | Strength when we are weak? | Rom 8:28 | lionheart | 173298
Good day to all, I have recently been presented an opportunity in which to minister. There are a number of us in my fellowship who have or are presently dealing with Chronic health issues be they physical,mental, or emotional. This is an area that's easy to overlook. Consequentially there are many that wind up falling through the cracks. People then end up feeling like they are somethings less than who they are and what God has called them to be. We so many times think that if we didnt have any of these things in our lives we would be doing much better,not exactly the truth. Paul was accutely aware of that. First and foremost I want to minister to and address this issue from a christian and biblical perspective. Any information or resources all of you may have will be much appreciated. This is one area that gets overlooked frequently and more than I even care to admit. Godbless all, lionheart |

talmid, Greetings and welcome to the forum. An inspiring post. It's a transformation that will impact us for eternity. One question though,what about the sins we were'nt aware of or forgot? Take a look at Colossians 2:9-15. It will give you a fuller understanding of what God has accomplished for us. In Christ, lionheart |

78 | A few questins for you. | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 151119
Dear FRoZeNFiRe, A few questions for you my sister in Christ.Please take these in the heart and spirit for which they are intended.We are family dear heart and as family we gotta be loving each other and watching out for each other,thats what God wants us to do. First are you seeking advice and Gods will or are you just looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear? The truth is right there in front you. You have it at your finger tips. 1Cor 6:14This is a good verse,it leaves no room for doubt.Secondly do you believe the bible is the Word of God and that it is the final authority for faith? If you do you gotta end this now.The bottom line is that God expressly speaks out againt sexual immorality. Matt 6:33 tells us to seek God first,Are you willing to do that? If you really love this person you will get the brothers hooked up with him.If he's not willing to make a relationship with God a top priority then you gotta cut him loose and give him to God.To continue in this this relationship will only bring you both to ruine.Read 2 Peter 1:3,4.God wants the best for you.Do you believe that?Claim it,God is no slacker! Always your brother in Christ, lionheart |

79 | New Ideas? | 2 Cor 11:4 | lionheart | 156408
Victor, Tell me something,what is your definition of new ideas? First of all, Gods Word is narrow in it's focus it says what it means and means what it says. We mold our theology around Gods Word that means we conform our believing to to His Word not the other way around. 1 Peter 1:20,21 2 Timothy 2:15. These are foundational scriptures for all who handle the Word of God,So when you say narrow focus,you betcha. In Christ, lionheart |
||||||
80 | New Ideas?? | 2 Cor 11:4 | lionheart | 156491
Victor, Again I ask,what do you classify as new ideas? To this generation what the bible teaches may be new but as God revealed it to those who passed it down to us the intent,teaching,and principle are the same.God hasn't changed and His Word as He revealed it hasn't changed. Hebrews 13:8,2 Peter 1:20,21. Now I will say this again,we must conform our believing to Gods Word and not to what we may think we want or believe.What I or anyone else may believe or not means diddly squat if it doesnt fall into line with Gods Word.(1 Timothy 4:16, Titus 2:1a)When one makes God and his Word the central focus and comes to Him with a humble and faithful heart one is capable of change,God will give that individual the heart and conviction to do so.There are different versions of the bible out there but only one interpretation,and thats as he revealed it to his holy Apostels and prophets. None of us is perfect and at times there are those of us myself included that can get sentimental about where we are at. We may not always get it right but we have the heart and humility to do our best to do it his way and I would say that is the heart of the brothers and sisters of this forum that I have come to know as a result of this forum.So in answer to your question We do our best,are you willing to do the same? In Christ, lionheart |
