64 | Age of accountability? | Luke 2:42 | lionheart | 156637
Greetings my brothers and sisters, This is a subject that has been dicussed and debated in the past. There have been a number of questions centering around the age of accountability. This is something that comes at different and varying points for people. There may not be one standard pat answer for this, but I've found that the Word will always give us a solid benchmark or starting point for the things that we may encounter. Part of jewish tradition was confirming children as adults at age 12,this is something that Jesus even went through. I think this bares looking at,What do all of you think? In Christ, lionheart |

65 | New Ideas?? | 2 Cor 11:4 | lionheart | 156491
Victor, Again I ask, what do you classify as new ideas? To this generation what the bible teaches may be new but as God revealed it to those who passed it down to us the intent, teaching, and principle are the same.God hasn't changed and His Word as He revealed it hasn't changed. Hebrews 13:8,2 Peter 1:20,21. Now I will say this again,we must conform our believing to Gods Word and not to what we may think we want or believe. What I or anyone else may believe or not means diddly squat if it doesnt fall into line with Gods Word.(1 Timothy 4:16, Titus 2:1a)When one makes God and his Word the central focus and comes to Him with a humble and faithful heart one is capable of change,God will give that individual the heart and conviction to do so.There are different versions of the bible out there but only one interpretation, and thats as he revealed it to his holy Apostels and prophets. None of us is perfect and at times there are those of us myself included that can get sentimental about where we are at. We may not always get it right but we have the heart and humility to do our best to do it his way and I would say that is the heart of the brothers and sisters of this forum that I have come to know as a result of this forum. So in answer to your question We do our best, are you willing to do the same? In Christ, lionheart |

66 | New Ideas? | 2 Cor 11:4 | lionheart | 156408
Victor, Tell me something, what is your definition of new ideas? First of all, Gods Word is narrow in it's focus it says what it means and means what it says. We mold our theology around Gods Word that means we conform our believing to to His Word not the other way around. 1 Peter 1:20,21 2 Timothy 2:15. These are foundational scriptures for all who handle the Word of God,So when you say narrow focus, you betcha. In Christ, lionheart |

69 | A right of passage? | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 153612
Is it just a right of passage? Lets see what we have here. 1. Matt 3:11,Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16,Jn 1:33. All these verses speak of Johns baptism and refer to what would come on Penticost. 2. 1 Cor 1:17 This is what God has called each and everyone of us to do. Matt 28:18-20. I will agree with you on this, one must grow beyond the basics, but if one is to do so one better be solidly grounded in the basics. There is nothing infantile about baptism, Baptism is one of basic tennets of the faith. The big question I have is why when baptism is mentioned some people get the idea we are taking the focus or priority off Jesus Christ? Quite the contrary,It puts the focus right where it rightly belongs,on Jesus Christ and what he did and accomplished for us. What do we do with Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38,Romans 6:3-11 1 Pt 3:21? It all fits together. In Christ, lionheart |

71 | What of Baptism? | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 153587
King623, Greetings and welcome to the forum. You are correct in saying that salvation is free,it cost us nothing and cost God his dearest blood. Eph 2:8 -10 Our salvation has nothing to do with what we did,but everything to do with what God did. Peter made some very clear statements regarding Baptism, Acts 2:38,1 Peter 3:21. Paul covers the subject of Baptism quite clearly in Romans chapter 6. My question to you is this,If we take baptism out of the equation what do you have? Refer to Mk 16:16. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

78 | Am I on the right track? | Rom 2:14 | lionheart | 152233
Hey Doc, I've heard people say in the past that God has chosen a specific number of people that will be saved.Might it be that in saying this that in knowing that God is all knowing and that in his foreknowlededge he knew who would believe and who wouldnt, might this put a little bit clearer perspective on the subject? Looking at in this light then we can say yes God did determine a certain number because he knew who would believe already? It helps me to make a bit more scence of it,but then again I could be wrong. What do you think? In Christ, lionheart |

79 | A few questins for you. | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 151119
Dear FRoZeNFiRe, A few questions for you my sister in Christ. Please take these in the heart and spirit for which they are intended. We are family dear heart and as family we gotta be loving each other and watching out for each other, thats what God wants us to do. First are you seeking advice and Gods will or are you just looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear? The truth is right there in front you. You have it at your finger tips. 1Cor 6:14This is a good verse,it leaves no room for doubt.Secondly do you believe the bible is the Word of God and that it is the final authority for faith? If you do you gotta end this now.The bottom line is that God expressly speaks out againt sexual immorality. Matt 6:33 tells us to seek God first,Are you willing to do that? If you really love this person you will get the brothers hooked up with him.If he's not willing to make a relationship with God a top priority then you gotta cut him loose and give him to God.To continue in this this relationship will only bring you both to ruine.Read 2 Peter 1:3,4.God wants the best for you.Do you believe that?Claim it,God is no slacker! Always your brother in Christ, lionheart |
