24 | People of God or angels | Gen 1:1 | lionheart | 172130
jamie_rivard, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Your scriptural support here is solid.Satan and his minions were absolutely cast out of heaven. He is refered to as the ruler of the world by Jesus in John 14:30 and God of This world by Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:4. An interesting question arises here, Job 1:6,2:1 Do these passeges refer to the people of God or angels? We do know the time of Job was before the time of Isreal as a nation so this does add a little significence to this question. I dont believe we have any contradiction here but I think in answering this question it will shed some light on and clarify what you have already stated. What do you think? Any and all thoughts and scripture will be much appreciated and accepted. God's Best to all, lionheart |

27 | Confession and forgiveness. | Ex 20:10 | lionheart | 164594
Luke, Lots of stuff here bro,We really try to make it hard for ouselves dont we. Could we be confusing confession and forgiveness ( 1John 1:9 )? How does repentance figure into this? PS- This isn't so much directed at you as it is to those who might not be as clear in there understanding. In Christ, lionheart |

28 | Forgiveness,Repentance,Fellowship. | Ex 20:10 | lionheart | 164711
Luke, Good day brother. What Jesus did for us on that day was a one time Good deal, after that there was no need for further sacrifice on Gods part.Once was enough. Does this mean we dont sin any more? We both know thats not true. 1 John 3:6 I dont think we have a contradiction here although it may pose a delima for some. This is where repentance comes in, In light of 1 JN3:6 we dont willfully choose to stay in sin,we deal with our sin 2 Cor 7:1-13,James 5:13-16,1 Jn 1:9,and Mtt 6:9-15. Forgiveness and repentance go together. Quick example, If I wronged you in some way would it not be proper for me to appolegise to you and ask you to forgive me? Yes we have been forgiven our sin past present and future. With the above referenced scriptures in mind would it not be proper to go to God with the same attitude of heart? I know I blow it on a daily basis in one way or another and I need to go God every day,it's part of our ongoing fellowship with God and each other. If we are not dealing with our sin are we walking in fellowship with God and each other? In Christ, lionheart |

33 | Jesus and the law. | Deut 14:1 | lionheart | 163416
Where did justification come into all of this? I will ask again and it's not that I'm trying to be a hard case here. Where did Jesus do away with the tithe? Go back to Romans 15:4 again. There is a difference when one talks about something being fulfilled and abolished. Paul deals with this subject. I fail to see where the tithe, where tithing went away. My mind is not closed to change when biblical justification and substantiation can be brought to bare. It's not my heart to be prideful. In Him, lionheart |
