584 | Why did God put us on earth with satin? | Genesis | Val | 196020
Your right I posted to your response. My intentions were to post to the question that appeared on the front page. I don't know how it got mixed up. Anyway sometimes when I study scripture my mind wonders as well to possible outcomes but I have learned to concentrate only on what the Bible has said and not to go beyond that. That way I stay focused on the Bible passage and not my wondering mind. God has created a place without Satan - that place is in heaven. This earth is not meant to be heaven. With that said I apologize for getting my response to you wrong. May God Bless you and may you grow in the knowledge and grace of God the Father and our Lord His Son Christ Jesus.
585 | Why did God put us on earth with satin? | Genesis | Val | 195997
It sounds like you are angry and blaming God for something that has happened to you. When we do not deal with our anger appropriately, confessing it as sin, it makes us bitter. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
586 | Why God killed boys for teasing Elisha | 2 Kings | Val | 195969
Yes I think so too. Also look at 2 Kin 13:14 When Elisha became sick with the illness of which he was to die, Joash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over him and said, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!" . What do you make of this verse? A few people in my SS class (at the time)who believed in the health and wealth sort of thing were bewildered that Elisha got sick and die. Anyway his interaction with Joash in verses 13-19 regarding the arrows and striking the ground were an interesting part of the story. Do you think that was a prophecy of future events or was he testing Joash's faith? Looking on down in 2 Kin 13:25 Then Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again from the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken in war from the hand of Jehoahaz his father. Three times Joash defeated him and recovered the cities of Israel. |

587 | Why God killed boys for teasing Elisha | 2 Kings | Val | 195964
Thank you. I particularly enjoyed studying the miracles God performed through Elisha. It was a very interesting period of time. An amazing verse is 2 Kin 13:21 As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band; and they cast the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the man touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet. Pretty remarkable isn't it. |

589 | Ecclesiastes, Matthew, NOW WHAT? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 195824
Thank you Sister Azure. Your words of encouragement are dearly appreciated. 1 Tim 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 1 Tim 2:2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Tim 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Tim 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. |

590 | Ecclesiastes, Matthew, NOW WHAT? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 195816
Brother John - thank you and Cheri for your kind words. How wonderful is God our Father and His Son Christ Jesus our Lord. We serve a living God and a living person in our Lord Christ Jesus. His bible is His love letter to us. When someone sends me a letter I read the whole letter. If I only read one line out of the letter, I would not know what the sender was trying to tell me. Most times I would read it over and over and over and the more I poured over it the more I understood the one who wrote it to me. What a privilege that the God of the universe has sent us several letters in the bible. I want to read them myself. My good friends might tell me what the letter says, but I have to see it firsthand for myself. As we pour over these letters it is such a privilege to find people such as you and Cheri who even want to read His letters and for that I am grateful. As another believer has said "Just give me Christ Jesus". May you grow in the grace and knowledge of God the Father and our Saviour His Son Christ Jesus. Col 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col 1:11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously Col 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Col 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, Col 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. |

If you do not have any other problems with your pastor, let it go. If you cannot, then move on to another congregation where you feel more accepted. Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, Titus 3:2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. |

592 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 195542
"William Tyndale (1493-1536) devoted his life to translating the Bible from the original Greek and Hebrew into English. His print shop was raided and destroyed by the city officials because it was an illegal operation. Tydale was executed for his "heretical" efforts. His last words, in the form of a prayer, were "Lord, open the King of England's eyes." Just three years later, King Henry VIII ordered that every church in England have a copy of the Scriptures in English. Tyndale's Bible would become the basis for the King James Bible, first published in 1611 which, for many today, is still considered England's "official" Bible." taken from "A Guide to the Scriptorium", The Holy Land Experience. It is easy to criticize but more appropriate would be a thankful heart for those men God used to bring the bible to us. These men who were martyred for the word of God are in my estimation most honorable. I am thankful that my God raised up men such as Tyndale for such a time as this. "Esther for 4:14..for such a time as this" |

Ten minutes later she told her viewers that if we didn't send money, her program would have to be dropped from the station... Apparently, Ms. Hickey's teachings don't work." 595 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | Val | 195074
In the context that is what it says. In saying that I have not studied the book of Exodus precept upon precept so I am not prepared to discuss it. I have studied Genesis - what chapter were you talking about regarding Abraham and Lot. I would like to look at it. Is Shalom hello?
596 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | Val | 195054
Reading the whole chapter you see that He had commanded them not to make or worship idols. If you look on down in the chapter you see that 3,000 were destroyed. Sometimes it is better to look at the whole picture instead of getting stumped on one verse. The lesson we can take from this incident is that God takes sin very seriously. I hope this helps.

599 | does God intend for us to pay tithes | Malachi | Val | 194694
You stated "So we can not categorize tithe as a law. Just something that we do to honor God, and not doing it, as he pointed out in Malachi, is robbing him." Browbeating is a type of force to control others and is not within the spirit of the attitude of cheerful giving. You may make some people feel guilty and they will give but they probably will not be doing it cheerfully but as a result of pressure and intimidation. "Luke 3:14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, "And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages." As has been stated in this post previously a dogmatic interpretation of this verse in Malachi causes offense and prejudges believers causing division and conflict. As I have pointed out as well as others there is an inhouse debate in christendom about this topic as you see in the article I posted. So please don't imply that those who do not hold to your interpretation are robbing God. That is not appropriate. As Hank reminded us, this is not a discussion forum so let each view stand as is. |

"Although Christians should not be encouraged to redirect their giving from their local churches completely, there also should not be any legalism involved in how and to whom money is given. So, if believers feel the need, and God's direction, to help ministries outside of their local churches, it would be hard to say that they are disobeying God's Word if they give as the Lord has directed them to give. Remember that God is concerned more with the attitude in giving than with the actual gift or designation of it." "How to know to whom to give" by Crown Financial Ministries The entire article can be found at their website. This is the conclusion of the article. |
