Subject: does God intend for us to pay tithes |
Bible Note: You stated "So we can not categorize tithe as a law. Just something that we do to honor God, and not doing it, as he pointed out in Malachi, is robbing him." Browbeating is a type of force to control others and is not within the spirit of the attitude of cheerful giving. You may make some people feel guilty and they will give but they probably will not be doing it cheerfully but as a result of pressure and intimidation. "Luke 3:14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, "And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages." As has been stated in this post previously a dogmatic interpretation of this verse in Malachi causes offense and prejudges believers causing division and conflict. As I have pointed out as well as others there is an inhouse debate in christendom about this topic as you see in the article I posted. So please don't imply that those who do not hold to your interpretation are robbing God. That is not appropriate. As Hank reminded us, this is not a discussion forum so let each view stand as is. |
