I understand. With all honesty though, I have studied Daniel throughly, actually three times inductively. You know how hard that is. What touched me was that these fulfillments in Daniel were literal events. Diving into the details of Daniel there are events that have not transpired. Why would we not take those as events that are going to happen in the future? Literal events? These details are what leds me to my view. I respect anyones view who has sincerely studied. I may not draw the same conclusions. Money motivation is for the Lord to judge. That road probably runs both ways in the millennial views. Don't know. I personally can't see that person's heart so only the Lord is qualified to judge that one rightly. But I understand what your saying we must be careful who we listen to.

Actually --Notable premillennialists in the early church were Papias (60-130), Irenaeus (130-200), Justin Martyr (100-165), and Tertullian (160-225). - Eschatology in Church History by Michael J Vlach |

Following after God's heart - in studying the life of David we see that he was the man after God's own heart - "He will do all that I ask him to do".
488 | why jesus had not allowed mary to touch | John 20:17 | Val | 202570
No I don't think that is it. I believe she was just in a state and He was in a way saying get a hold of yourself. We know that Christ work was finished on the cross. He was resurrected and that showed the Father's acceptance of the sacrifice. He went to the Father so that the Holy Spirit could be poured out.

Again I will again refer you to the scriptures. Notice 2 Sam 12:13 Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has taken away your sin; you shall not die." No matter how much we reason to justify our own mindset we must let scripture speak for itself. The Lord took away David's sin. David continued to live with Bathesheba as his wife. The Lord did not ask David to put away his wife. What you are asking people to do is "put away/divorce" again is a sin. Sin in the church is a different topic. I will let you have the last word. Let us agree to disagree on this specific point. |

490 | Was this really Samuel's spirit? | 1 Sam 28:11 | Val | 201955
The Lord had confronted Saul about his sin - but Saul had never repented of it. Samuel told Saul the kingdom had been torn from him - "what is this sound of the sheep I hear" Saul could not accept this fact and was in rebellion against the Lord even until the day he died. Consulting a medium was a sin. When Samuel spoke to him one last time he repeated what the Lord had already told him and added the news of his death. It wasn't that the Lord wouldn't answer Saul. It was that he wouldn't listen. When Saul took that attitude the Lord no longer answered his prayers. The lesson in this for us is that we must deal with sin in our lives and worship the Lord his way according to His ordinances. Thank you for listening and searching out the scriptures for yourself. Blessings, Val |

Correction, the devil is no where mentioned in this passage. As gvgriffin has answered the Lord allowed Samuel to speak to Saul one last time. We must always put scripture above commentary no matter how beloved our commentaries are to us.

Yes very helpful, thanks Does Sowing/Reaping refer only to rewards we get in heaven? Is there a here and now Sowing/Reaping? For instance if I plant/sow a crop this spring say of tomatoes, should I normally expect some nice juicy tomatoes this summer? Also what if I behave badly (sow angry words)toward my best friend for no reason - say I am just in a bad mood and want to take it out on her. What kind of response would I normally receive? What if she replyed angryly back? Would you say I am reaping what I had sown? |

WOS - I was not referring to you. I was referring to my experiences in life outside of the present. You are not offending at all. I thought we settled that previously. You seemed to want me to elaborate on my point and I did. It still didn't go over well. Thats why I don't like to argue/discuss/expound whatever word you chose in a setting like this. Our words are much more magnified when we see them in print. The tone of a person's voice is not heard. Their expressions of explanation cannot be seen. It seems we go around in circles trying to communicate this way. Since we do not know people personally it is hard to see where they are coming from. I gave a verse I thought the questioner was asking for. And as he stated he already knew the answer he wanted. You owe me no further apology at all. Your first one was accepted and I thought we moved on. But my response brought about an offense to you. See what I mean. Sometimes we get lost in all the words. So I can't explain myself any clearer than I have already done. I am afraid it would cause further stress so it was a good experience and I am sure the Lord will use it to grow me spirtually. You are a nice guy. Thank you - we're good. And to Azure I don't believe I can explain it and be understood so I will let you all have the last word. Blessings to you, Val

WOS, I read your original post including Matthew Henry's commentary. I don't believe it (Mr. Henry's commentary) is a good exposition on this passage at first reading. Thanks for your input. Val

WOS, in regard to the original question, through my studies I cannot say categorically yes everything we do for evil or for good in this life will be repaid back in this life. In saying that I can say that I have definately observed people being brought low for having an arrogant attitude toward me. In living for Christ I have learned that He is the one I am to leave vengeance to and in doing that, He has repaid people for evil they have done in this life. I believe we do get "paid back" for how we treat others. I know I certainly have and have tried to learn and grow from it. The bible does say somewhere that He hates arrogance and pride and He knows how to humble them, us. And yes I believe it happens in this life. And in that sense I believe we reap what we sow. And yes you are right I did not expound on the whole chapter. The next time you see someone being arrogant, prideful, abusive, just sit back and watch and don't be surprised if what they have done doesn't come back to haunt them. The bible also says somewhere you can be sure your sins will find you out. Finally I don't believe these questions can be answered completely in this manner but require a complete topical study. Each person doing his own study. Until that is done, I really would not want to pursue talking it out. There are many many things I do not know but this one thing I do know, no one gets away with sin forever, either in this life and definately not in the next. So I guess that was more than you wanted to know. Rather than correct me I wish you would give me your take from your studies of course on the original question. Thanks, Val
