561 | What does Rev 8:5 mean? | Rev 8:5 | disciplerami | 72414
Greetings, I see what you are asking. The peals of thunder and flashes, etc are the rumblings of God's judgment. God has heard the outcry of his people and judgment has begun. Whether this refers to the temporal judgment upon an indvidual nation at the time of writing or the eternal judgment at the end of time, I don't know. Doesn't matter to me because it all works out the same. God bless. |

562 | Does NASB have an excellent concordance? | Not Specified | disciplerami | 72412
Greetings, Please forgive me if my question isn't proper for this forum [I'm new here]. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a NASB that has an excellent concordance? Maybe even some maps too. I don't care much for the other stuff, but the concordance has been inadequate in my Bible. Thanks and God bless. |

564 | who is this in Rev8:3-5what is he doing? | Rev 8:5 | disciplerami | 72378
Greetings, Since the High Priest was the one who entered the Holy Place to burn incense on the altar, it might be referring to Jesus, the Christians High Priest. Maybe this isn't as important to know as is knowing that the prayers of the persecuted saints were being heard and answered. The first audience of this epistle found this to be good news since they were undergoing persecution: either from Nero or Domitian. I'm interested to hear your thoughts. God bless. |

565 | do you have eternal or temporal life? | John 10:28 | disciplerami | 72375
Right, Hebrews 6 is speaking of those who have been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift and the word of God, and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and more. There's not much doubt that these people were 'once' Christians. But their present conduct puts them in the realm of 'fallen away.' It is impossible for them to be saved unless they repent. The John 10:28 passage indicates that your salvation is not in the hands of others. It does not say whether you can remove yourself from the grace of God. Sheep most certainly can stray from the Shepherd. |

566 | do you have eternal or temporal life? | John 10:28 | disciplerami | 72365
Greetings, Why can I not possess something and then lose it? The eternal life is yours conditional to your continued walk with God. Remove your hands from the plow and you are not fit for the kingdom of heaven (Luke 9:62) God bless |

567 | Can a person lose salvation? | Bible general Archive 1 | disciplerami | 72357
Greetings, Let me add my two cents to your very good question concerning whether one may be saved, then lost. I was reading 2 Peter 2 just moments ago and came across this same topic. Peter writes of the 'false prophets' of his day, saying, "who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves....for if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;...then the Lord knows how to...keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment." (2 Peter 2:1,4,9) What we have here is the clear message that the 'purchased of God' may turn to 'destructive heresies' and be held to account for it on the day of judgment. On that day, it will be too late for repentance and their fate will be the same as the fate of 'angels when they sinned.' We must conclude that a Christian can make the decision to turn away from God, and from the accompanying grace. God bless. |
