WOS, My brother I can empathise with you on this. That's why the time we spend with God in His Word is so vitally important. Romans 15:4 fits particularly well here. Our time in God's Word can make the difference between success and failure in our daily walk with God. In Him, lionheart |

47 | is there any difference between a 'God f | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 202110
Hank, An astute analysis my friend. I went back just to refresh my own memory and I found the term Christian used only three times. Acts 11:26, 26:28 and 1 Peter 4:16 where as we find Christians called disciples before Acts 11:26. That's why you hear me referencing disciple so often. In Him, lionheart |

50 | Deceived or not? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 203247
frii,welcome... I second the motion on what Doc just stated to you. You gotta start with the main course, that's where your going to find the nourishment and resources you will need for a solid foundation. 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21. Give these passages of scripture scriptures your attention and you'll be on your way. And as Doc told you find a good solid fellowship where God's Word is taught and soloid discipling in Christ is present. In Him, lionheart |

dicmil, Welcome to the forum. Is there soul sleep? In short no. In the search box up in the right hand corner type in soul sleep you'll find some good scriptural answers, but be careful there are some that are quite off the wall too. Keep 2 Timothy 2:15 in mind as you study this out. In Him, lionheart |

55 | Does God want us to belong to one church | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 205030
Sissy, God's blessing to you and welcome to the forum. The key thing here is being in a fellowship where God's Word is preached and honored. I don't know if your husband is saved or not but him going to church now is encouraging. Encourage him t go after God. I don't know that thier is any scripture that dictates we have to belong to a particular church or fellowship. You are correct, as Christians we are the church. If the fellowship he is attending scripturally sound then stand with your husband an encourage him as much as you can. In Him, lionheart |

56 | Does God want us to belong to one church | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 205138
Tamara, I am in complete agreement with you. But it wasn't so much fellowship that I was getting into as it was getting her to see that as a disciple of Jesus Christ that she belongs to the body (The Church) and that concerning what fellowship we align ourselves with isn't specifically stated as much as what should be taught and preached. 58 | Laying hands on someone? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 207545
Jesus_Keeps_Me, It's not so much in the laying on of hands as it is in the prayer involved. It's the prayer that will move God's heart. Touch can be very healing but we need to exercise allot of Godly wisdom and judgement when doing so as that may not be appropriate in many cases. Example- I spent part of this past weekend in the hospital and was discharged late Saturday afternoon. As I was sitting out front waiting on my ride they brought an individual by ambulance. The vast majority of the time my bible goes where ever I go. This happened to be one of those times. As they were taking this person into the emergency room one of his family members thinking I was the hospital chaplain asked me if I would pray for who I assumed was her husband. I explained to her that while wasn't the chaplain that I would be happy to pray for her loved one. Ya see we intercede as Jesus our High Priest intercedes for us. It's God that will bring the healing or strength to bare up. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |
