32 | OVER TAXATION! | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 194986
AQUEEN, 2 Corinthians 9:7- Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart. Not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Read this whole chapter. It makes a huge statement where giving is concerned. No one has the right to demand ad especially call into question ones faith over this. Are there times we need to challenge one another where giving is concerned? Absolutely! But! We do so not out of obligation or legalizm but out of our heart for what God has given us. Whatever I have I have because God gave it to me, so it all belongs to him anyway. So it would reason that out of gratitude and love for God that I would want to give back to him. I want to encourage you with this. People don't set the bar for what you give. That's between you and God. when you give take a look at your heart. Paul tells us to examine our hearts daily. When we are giving we may not always know where it goes and yes there are times where even those things are missused. If we are aware of such circumstances we are under no obligation to support it. The main thing we need to understand that above all we are giving to God. God will bless you even if no one else will. Plus when it comes to giving it's much more than our finances. It's our time, our talents, our hearts and lives. John 15:13- Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. Straight out of the mouth of our Lord. That pretty well sums it up. In Him, lionheart |

33 | How does God handle a backslider? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 196257
kingfish, Greetings and welcome to the forum. First of all let me say this get HELP! There is no shame in asking for help. Son I am highly relatable to where your at now. I'm a recovering addict alcoholic of seventeen years. Take a good look at things make sure you got your bible in front of you, get with another believer look at the scriptures about salvation. Where does your life line up now. It took me 35 years to figure out that I was living a lie. I thought and believed I was disciple all those years. It took someone sitting down with me and the bible and telling me nyet, nicht, nine, no. I am now. The only reason I'm sober today and I use that term emphatically is that I never had a relationship with Jesus. Do this son. There's no shame in findng out we were wrong. Better to know for sure than not. Do what you gotta do my friend. In Him, lionheart |

34 | why join army? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 197054
ssongsu, Welcome to the forum. I may be a bit partial on this subject being a veteran of 16 years of military service. You bring up a subject that comes up often in the Christian community and can be very contentious and emotional. We can be very be subjective or we can with solid bible study can find answers that will put allot of our questions to rest. 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 and Romans 15:4 will help keep us on solid ground when they are heeded and properly applied. None the less you ask a valid question. I think a simple word study can give you some answers. Many times in the Old Testament the word kill is used in relationship to murder. This is the Hebrew word mut which is used throughout the Old Testament. Then you have the Greek word diacheizo is used in relationship to murder. Acts 5:30. All murder is killing but not all killing is murder. David was a military man yet the bible says he was a man after God's own heart. Know contradiction just a statement by God of who David was and this was in spite of all his sin. If we will but keep things within biblical context it all makes much more sense to us. mightillycalled, 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 and 2 Peter 1:20,21. How about relying on sound biblical exegesis first. You don't need to impress people with what you know but you do ned to preach the Gospel we all do. We are called by our Lord to do so. Matt 28:18-20. But we need to reach out to people on a level where they can relate and understand. Do this and I think you will connect with allot more people. In Him, lionheart |

38 | Christianity refer to Visualization?? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 199168
Sean, Good day. I don't know about the history of this sort of stuff in the bible but there are a number of scriptures that expressly speak out against this kind of thing. Being that this is a bible study forum this may not be the place to conduct the kind of research you are conducting. If you have a bible do a study on witchcraft and sorcery and see what God says about these kind of things. In Him, lionheart |

39 | Help me we my marriage. How to care? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 200154
Lorali, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I see allot of situations like yours and having as a husband at one time can empathise with you. I think that if my wife and I had been disciples of Jesus at the time we might still be together today. But I do my best to not have any recriminations and trust God and His boundless grace and mercy. I don't know if you and your husband belong to a fellowship if you do seek out advice and counseling. Proverbs tells us that many councillors insure success. The idea here is going after Godly advice and letting God and those he put's in our life to be a part. Read Ephesians and take a good look at Hebrews. Get close to Jesus. Look at tht Gospels and see His heart for people. Do this and you will find what you need in dealing with your heart.
