41 | What do we learn from praying | Not Specified | azurelaw | 195797
Mat 6:9-15, 26:39, Mark 17, Act 7:60 What a privilege is "praying" granted to us by our most gracious God! So, what do we learn from praying... - to be submissive and obedient - to trust - to examine ourselves - to forgive - to ask for forgiveness - to humble ourselves - to love More inputs and enlightenment are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. 42 | A prophet | Not Specified | azurelaw | 196046
Jeremiah 18:18, 26:8 Jeremiah was being persecuted by many and even at edge of death for his prophesying which the people claimed as false. I want to know what was the status of a prophet at the time of Jeremiah's. In Ch 27 v1-15, what Jeremiah said appeared to show him a betrayer (base on a national perspective). It is interesting to see those priests and other prophets did not charge Jeremiah for his betrayal discourse, but false prophesying. Your input and enlightenment is appreciated. Shalom Azure |

43 | How? | Not Specified | azurelaw | 197477
Repost post number 2120 : Is the command to "LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH" in Mark 12:29-34 and elsewhere something that we, as Christians indwelt by the Holy Spirit can attain with God's enablement in this life, or is this merely an impossible command designed to humble us in our sinfulness? I find the above old post when I google around. I feel it interesting and worth our pondering again and would like to have some more inputs. Shalom Azure |

46 | ? laws prior to Exodus/Moses | Not Specified | azurelaw | 202687
If God gave His commandments only in the Exodus, were people lawless before that age of time or God had a different measure? What kind of "laws" did they have? Thanks for your help. Shalom Azure |

47 | perfect? or good? | Not Specified | azurelaw | 203406
In the chapters of God's creation, there is not a single word of "perfect" but just God commented what He created was good. Was man made with perfection? I completely believe that God CAN create anything with perfection, but might He (for some reasons) create man beyond perfect even though sin did not enter the world when Adam was created? Thank you for your enlightenment. Shalom Azure |

51 | Revival of Holiness | Not Specified | azurelaw | 222473
Yesterday (previous Sunday) during the morning service, a song led by the worshipper titled "Revival of Holiness". (I have never heard of such concept/term) The message of the lyric is asking God to revive believers' holiness and the holiness of the heart. It seems to me the lyric is talking about believers' "backsliding". I want to ask: 1/ What is the teaching in Bible concerning "revival"? Can it be applied to Holiness? 2/ In what aspect(s) does the Bible teach about Holiness (I know one of the concepts of which is "to set apart as holy") for believers? Thank you for your help. Shalom Azure |

55 | OT where God reveals himself Light to hi | Bible general | azurelaw | 241961
Dear Janatplain, Welcome to the forum. You may find quite a number of verses relating God as light to His people by using the search function on the left. I would say the first revelation is Genesis chapter 1, yet, a more straight forward description would be Exodus chapter 13. Shalom Azure |

56 | When study what to read first | Bible general | azurelaw | 242104
Dear EdB, Just my 2 cents of another perspective on new Christians reading John. I agree that with the western background mind, the book of John could be difficult to understand. However, as a Chinese, I find that John 1:1 might not be that difficult to understand for knowing God. When it speaks about the "Word", the concept is so much in line with the original "Tao" (in ancient China). I am not saying the religion "Tao (meaning in Chinese : way, word)" is identical to Christian faith. While one of the posts stating that Mark was for Roman, Luke was for Greek; the Christian faith is from eastern world; now John contains element that is so harmonious with one of the major Chinese beliefs and helping Chinese to be familiar with the God mentioned in the Bible. What can I say, but hallelujah! Shalom Azure |

Dear jmar, Thank you for your questions. However, please note that this is a study bible forum not a study people's opinion forum. What we seek should reside in the biblical teachings. Meanwhile, your several questions appear to be assignment questions. If they are, we do really hope that you first try your own effort in your study instead of passing them (in the first place) onto the forum users to complete for you. If I have misunderstood you, please accept my sincere appology. Shalom Azure |
